Coty hasn't even been the best player on his own team lately -- a 6-3 guard named Charles Eaton who also plays at Lawson State has been on a tear
and was named the NATIONAL PLAYER of the WEEK by NJCAA

Coty won this same award a month ago -

Eaton is coming off a 37 point night and has almost 100 points in his last 3 outings getting his scoring average up to 17.5 ppg

Meanwhile Coty's numbers have been slipping - and although still a very good player - Coty's scoring average is now 16.7 ppg, and FG shooting % at 56%
(COMPARED TO Tyshon Pickett's numbers against considerably superior competition 15.2 ppg, 61% FG shooting)

They both sound very good. I would have liked to had bookends, but that seems unlikely.

I don't think Coty Clarke is a very likely recruit for BU. I hear we are focusing on other preps and jucos.

Coty Clarke's season is also over...
after his Lawson State squad beat both Bishop State (85-70) & Alabama Southern (81-61) last week..
they lost Saturday night to Shelton State (96-85) who then proceeded to lose in the Region XXII Championship to Mitchell Anderson's old junior college Wallaceville 68-66.

Coty Clarke put up pretty awesome numbers but he's till looking and hasn't verballed anywhere

he just told his local newspaper in a report from this morning...
"Clarke??™s offers: Lawson State forward Coty Clarke, a former Antioch player, has
offers from Georgia, Bradley and Southern Mississippi. The 6-foot-7 sophomore
averaged 14.5 points and 13 rebounds for Lawson State."

Jucojunction recently had an article profiling Coty Clarke's visit to Georgia-

As is common, the article does not mention Bradley

Clarke recently decided to use one of his official visits to the Universtiy of Georgia.
"I took an official visit to Georgia from Wednesday through Friday this past week," Clarke told UGASports. "It was great. I love the coaching staff, the atmosphere, and especially the academics. I think I can have a great future there as a Bulldog."

The 6-foot-7, 225-pound forward said the Georgia coaching staff really stood out the most to him on his visit.

"They are great. I love them all. It was like a big, happy family," he said. "Coach (Phillip) Pearson is my guy. I feel like I can trust him with my life."

While Clarke certainly enjoyed his visit, he's not quite ready to pull the trigger on a verbal commitment just yet.

"I'm still weighing my options," said Clarke, "but they are number 1 for me at the moment."

Clarke's other options at the moment include Memphis, Southern Miss, UAB, and a few others, but Clarke has yet to schedule any more official visits.

"I want to really think about the UGA visit before I go anywhere else," Clarke said. "I'll probably make decision sometime in April or early May."

As a sophomore at Lawson State CC, Clarke averaged 14.5 points, 13 rebounds, 4.7 assists, 1.9 steals, and 1.6 blocks per game. He shot 55.6% from the field, 41.7% on 3 point field goals, and 72% from the free throw line.

Coty Clarke's recruitment continues to take turn after turn...

Georgia, Miss State, Southern Miss, now Oregon State all in contact and yet he remains undecided...
The option most often mentioned was Georgia - but...they just used their final scholarship to land this guy - another power forward -
so it would seem some of Coty Clarke's offers are drying up as scholarships are being filled...but he may still be playing his cards right like Brzoja....

What's really interesting is that with 2 or 3 open scholarships still - John Calipari appears to also be in contact with Clarke...

We have always seen that decent big kids who wait will eventually get higher interest.
Today, Coty Clarke is on a visit to Arkansas.
