A.J. Riley is a legit D1 guard, and IMO he will have a great career somewhere. But from the way I see it, and from what I hear, with Anthony Fields (a very good point guard), and Omari Grier (a combo who is more than capable of playing some PG as well as being a superior shooter) becoming eligible next year, and Stefan Zecevic (also a superior shooter with PG skills) also coming in next year, our priorities now include a couple big men and a true wing player who can score. We do not need another point guard, even a pretty good one like A.J.
If our recruiting efforts fail to land the players Geno is targeting these next several months, and if A.J. is still on the market, we could resume interest, but it doesn't seem likely it'll happen.
And I agree that there seems a good chance he'll end up at a junior college, but I'd be very surprised if it is ICC.

That is just a plug for Tony. He doesn't seem to get the big time guys and I was just hoping. Maybe in two years AJ would fill one of our needs."Educate and inform the whole mass of the people...they are the only sure reliance for the preservation of our liberty."

Sounds as tho BU may have pulled their offer....
"Riley previously acknowledged the BU scholarship may no longer be available"

not so quick
There has already been a precedent set in a case like this. Remember Marcus Relphorde from Homewood Flossmore in 2006? He played there for 3 years and then went out of state to a prep for 3 weeks and hated it and came back and tried to go to a private school named Hales Franciscan. Sound familiar?? The IHSA stated he would probably be alright so he enrolled and then was ruled inelgible by the IHSA, so they appealed and lost again. He then enrolled at Boyz To Men in Decatur which is not affiliated with the IHSA and played there. His father, whom is an Attorney and from what I have heard is watching this case very close and this wont be the first or the last time the IHSA has been sued..(Devon Hodges) . This case is the exact same with the exceptions of the school names. My guess is he moved there just for academics. I know that someone would of been smart enough to google 'Marcus Relphorde IHSA." and done their homework before enrolling a kid in the school. Also by enrolling in a Prep school on scholarship takes away your amateur status therefore making you inelgible as well. Hope he hits the books and qualifies.

Here are posts from a couple years ago about how many different schools Relphorde had actually been at...

If I have to guess,I'm guessing the IHSA will NOT allow A.J. to play at N.D. I could be totally wrong buts thats the way I see it. This has turned into a huge mess ever since he decided to leave Manual. Not sure why he made that decision but he did and I think it's going to come back and bite him in the rear. Just my opinion.

I am wondering if the fact that Jalen James is at La Lumiere and was a starter there last year might be part of the reason A.J. left La Lumiere and returned to Peoria. They are similar players, and maybe he was concerned about playing time? It would be a shame if he ends up disqualified from playing this season.
