Wow! Pretty impressive stuff... and a tribute to Geno and staff that they were even in the mix. What I find strange is (if Taphorn is indeed rated so highly) why teams like Duke, KU, UK, and other Top 10-caliber teams weren't recruiting him heavily as well. Northwestern?

I think it is his physique -- it's the same reason kids like Shurna & Coble do not get other Big Ten offers..
I definitely agree we had a really good shot at Taphorn until the Northwestern offer - I think the kid really wanted to play at Bradley - recall he's a distant cousin of Jeremy Crouch....

Nate Taphorn could well end up begin named the Golfer of the Year in Central IL...
Again over the weekend he had a great outing and just missed medalist honors in the Pekin Dragon Invitational

Hey - I know it's a long shot but.........

How about if Bradley offers Nate Taphorn a scholarship to come and play golf,
and allows him the choice to walk on and play basketball.......
He hasn't signed anyone's agreement or LOI yet - so might Nate be interested in such an offer?

Taphorn was quoted by one of the major national recruiting sites as saying he was not at all happy about Bill Carmody being fired but that he did not say he was reopening his recruitment -- time will tell

I saw some video posted by Jim Mattson of Nate playing in the IBCA game
he's good but when competing against the best of the large school kids he did not stand out like Garett Covington, Malcolm Hill, Kendrick Nunn, or Jaylon Tate with their athleticism..

Watching the videos I am impressed that he is a lot like ex-Northwestern player Nick Fruendt...who would have made a great mid-major kid but never saw the court at Northwestern

He's also very reminiscent of another player whose name is similar - his dad who played for ISU -- so Northwestern is a great school, but I sure hope Nate isn't aiming too high..
