We do have a lot of OGs, but nowadays, most teams have two different off-guards on the floor at the same time. TB in 2009 is the last BU player I can remember playing the 3 who was actually a forward, and that was only for a few mins here and there (except for the infamous lineup of WE, JP and MK that JL tried for about 2 minutes last year). Having a glut of 2's simply means you have players who are covering both the 2 and the 3 spot. The 2 and 3 are practically interchangable...could anybody actually discern who played the 2 and who played the 3 when you would have DD, WL, and DSE on the floor at the same time?
My guess is that a 6'3 forward would be listed this way because he isn't a shooter and is more of a driver/scorer/rebounder, and wouldn't ever be on the floor without a PG and a shooter/OG.#DunkOnYou

I actually would prefer to see us get another point guard if we are going the JC route.

This kid seems to fit Ford's offensive scheme!

Jeff Early played his freshman season at Allegany College of Cumberland, Maryland.
He was named 3rd team All-American in 2009.
Here Jeff Early is listed at 6'1" on the Allegany roster in 2008-2009-
He must have grown. Now on the Monroe roster, he is lised at 6'4"-
Here are a couple brief video clips of Jeff Early-
An alley-oop dunk attempt when he was playing at Allegany College-
A warmup video from Feb. 2007 when he was in high school-
And he was recently voted to the 1st team NJCAA All-American

Jeff is legit 6'3 maybe 6'4 wing player who has a legit 40 inch vertical leap.* He is a human highlight film.* 1st team preseason Alll-american at Alleghany , then broke his foot last year.* Transferred to Monroe.* His last 3 games has averaged over 30 points and 10 boards.* Amazing rebounder for his size.*

The games I saw were just flat out non-stop race horse basketball with kids flying up and down the court, using a 9-10 man rotation - just flat wore me out! It seemed to me any kid over 6-5 and 200 lbs who didn't run like the wind was just flat out of place on the court. I don't know if that kind of style will play well in the MVC and I really don't think WE and JP are suited to play it but any kid between 6-2 to 6-5 with great speed and an ability to get directly to the hoop looks to be players Coach Ford would be targeting. Again my observation is based on two ballgames I saw last year so that may or may not be his style and again I wouldn't have a clue what he thinks will play in the MVC but if speed is his MO then this type of student athelete may well be his target and he'll need a bench full just like him to run this style for 40 minutes!

This is a rehash of an older topic...
I think Jeff Early has proved he is a fine player and has done very well for SIU -- and I guess you could say Bradley looked close at him and almost landed him....
however - here's a little blurb from the SIU media that spins it this way....
"Early.... was a half hour from signing with new coach Geno Ford. "
but...."Lindsay convinced Early to accompany him on a recruiting trip to
Carbondale before making his final decision, and the rest is history."
Hmmm... that's not exactly how I had heard it......
I don't know if Lindsay was ever offered by BU but he was here at Bradley at the same time Early was...
