Combining the previous information about Shayok Shayok into one thread.
Shayok Shayok is originally from Ontario, Canada. He moved to Chicago and planned to attend Chicago Julian High School in late 2009. Because Coach Les is a friend of Loren Jackson, who was the Chicago Julian High School basketball coach at that time, Bradley became involved in his recruiting. Shayok Shayok played at a couple AAU events with the Julian team, but I can't find that he ever was eligible to play on the high school team. Loren Jackson left Julian High School early in 2010, and has since taken a job at the IMG Academy in Bradenton, Florida. Several of Jackson's players from julian transferred to the IMG Academy, includin Shayok Shayok, Phillip Greene, and Jamari Traylor. Bradley was involved recruiting all 3. Greene committed to St. John's. Traylor reportedly has offers from Kansas, Indiana, Minnesota, St. John's, and Virginia Tech, but there may be academic issues. Shayok Shayok is still uncommitted.
Geno Ford picked up on his recruiting and Shayok Shayok made a campus visit the weekend of April 15-17.
He is described in internet reports as anywhere from 6'5" to 6'9". However, one of our staff measured him while in Florida to look at the IMG kids, and said he was 6'8".
He is described as a slender, skilled forward who shoots and handles the ball well. But because of the multiple transfers and prep schools, could there be issues with the NCAA eligibility?
