I didn't find a threat on this kid, but the Braves have apparently offered.
There is some big time competition for his services. He's going to IMG now.. but was at Chicago Julian last year (played with WL). It sounds like we are a longshot.. his top three are said to be St Johns, WV & DePaul.
Here's his espn listing:
Phillip Greene
Shooting Guard
CLASS: 2011
SCOUTS GRADE: 94
Chicago, IL
IMG Academy
6'2"
170 lbs
Overall Rank
34
Undeclared/Considering
West Virginia Mountaineers, DePaul Blue Demons, St. John's Red Storm, Oklahoma State Cowboys, Arizona State Sun Devils
ESPN Player EvaluationsEvaluation On The Trail Conversation Strengths:
Greene is a slender combo guard with good quickness and a smooth game. He attacks the rim and finishes well. A shifty ballhandler, he can either get into the lane and finish or pull up to hit mid-range jumpers. In transition, he's very efficient and makes good decisions, usually getting all the way to the rim or setting up teammates for easy baskets. Defensively, his length and quickness allow him to defend both guard positions equally effectively.
Weaknesses:
Adding strength is a necessary area of improvement. He isn't a knockdown shooter from deep which is also hindering his development as a 2.
Bottom Line:
Greene continues to develop and a year at IMG will help him immensely, especially adding strength and a more consistent perimeter jumpshot.
Notes
Travel Team: Mean Streets...Oregon, Oregon State, Detroit and Bradley have also offered...
