  • BU recruit- 2011- Teris Bourgeois

According to this TexasHoops.com article, Bradley is recruiting Teris Bourgeois, a 6'5" wing player from Houston Clear Springs High School.

    Rivals profile-

Here are a few clips from the article-
Clear Spring High School's Teris Bourgeois often times heard that he was one of the greater Houston area's most unselfish players. Every now and then, that proved to be a problem.
There were times when coaches wanted Bourgeois to take over games. The 6-foot-5, 170-pound wing has made it a priority to be more of a go-to guy during the summer, and it's paying off to the advantage of the Houston Elite.
"I was unselfish, but I think I was a little too unselfish," said Bourgeois (last name pronounced Burhge-waa). "I would pass the ball more than I would show my game. Basically, I wasn't being that guy who should lead the team. I'd give the ball to others and make them shoot."
Under Houston Elite and coach Dewshannon Holmes, Bourgeois almost is forced to be the player to score the all-important basket. For a rising 2011 who shoots nearly 45 percent from the 3-point line, that logic only makes sense to Holmes. Bourgeois is averaging roughly 16 points per game for the Elite after averaging 15.8 points, eight rebounds and four assists during the regular season with Clear Springs.
"He has emerged into a team leader," Holmes said of Bourgeois. "He's our go-to guy, someone we turn to whenever we need a bucket. He's worked really hard, and he's our guy now."
Bourgeois had a solid showing at the Great American Shoot-Out in Duncanville this past weekend and is preparing for the adidas Super 64 next week in Las Vegas. He's hoping all the prep work - the countless hours working with the shooting machine, the running bleachers and the additional conditioning - will pay off with a high-major Division I scholarship.
Currently, Bourgeois has looks from Stephen F. Austin, Bradley, San Jose State and a host of other schools. Bourgeois most likely will play the two-guard position in college. He's yet to receive an offer, but he's hoping that - in addition to his overly unselfish approach on the court -- will make a permanent change.
"He's a good kid. He's good at school, and he's a good teammate," Holmes said. "He's a quiet kid who goes about his business every day. He just loves to play and loves to compete. He doesn't have a quit bone in his body. I think he's going to be a very good college player."
Bourgeois added: "It's been a really good summer for me. Playing with the Houston Elite has made me a stronger player and showed me how good I really can be. I'm shooting the ball better and scoring a lot more than I usually do."

This is devastating to the players, coaches, administration, fans, and program as a whole.

From what I hear....Les and Company were looking to build the future of this team around Bourgeois....once again we can't land our big targets.....
