Good guess. The answer is actually there in my post, but you had to do the cursor/highlight thing to see it.
I changed the post to reveal the answer-
Hard to believe, there have only been a total of 3 players from Kentucky in the long history of Bradley basketball.
Saihou Jassey- Rose Hill Christian Academy, Ashland, KY 2005-2007 Larry Bentley- Male HS, Louisville, KY 1973-1976 Pat Marshall- Shelbyville HS, Shelbyville, KY 1982-1984
While the number may see low for talent from a border state, you'd have to imagine not a lot of top-flight kids got out of the state to begin with with two major programs (although truthfully, Louisville wasn't on the MAJOR scene until the 1960's-70's but were a NAIB (now NAIA) power, and two solid Mids with WKU and Murray.
Those kids that did go elsewhere likely went to the SoCo (pre-SEC/ACC) or SEC/ACC first--and that likely was magnified when you add in that BU's team was integrated from 1953-on.
WOW! Just the type of player that I was hoping we would get for next year. Welcome to Bradley Remy!
Bradley 72 - Illini 68 Final
???It??™s awful hard,??™??™ said Illini freshman guard D.J. Richardson, the former Central High School guard who played prep school ball a few miles from here and fought back tears outside the locker room. ???It??™s a hometown thing. It??™s bragging rights.??™

Jim Les has been recruiting Kentucky the last few years, more than in the past, and more than previous coaches. But we either lost out or dropped off the following good recruits (click on name to see more)- Ricardo Johnson and Josh Sewell in 2010, Vee Sanford and C.J. Penny in 2009, Shelvin Mack in 2008, and Steffphon Pettigrew in 2007.
Did Saihou Jassey ever play high school basketball in Kentucky? I know he graduated from there and even played on the Kentucky all-star team. I just remember some eligibility issues due to transferring.

No. He played at a high school in Maryland as a junior, but the Kentucky High School Atlhletic association never approved his transfer to the Kentucky school and ruled him ineligible for his senior year. Yes, he did play in a couple All Star games after his senior season.
I forgot all about Ricardo Johnson. I really wanted him on BU. Did he play last year in college, or will this be his first year? I was wondering how he does in college.

I was another one who was really excited by the prospects of Ricardo Johnson. Too bad it didn't work out. He'll be an incoming freshman for Ohio this season. I know I'll be keeping an eye on him to see how he does this year.
Yeah thanks...i realized that just trying to inject a little "Sienfeld" into the thread. They had a bit where they argued about "next Friday"....when it was thursday.
Was it THIS Friday or NEXT Friday.....if it was THIS Friday I would have said THIS Friday....but the next Friday IS this Friday....and on and on....... now I'm REALLY tired.

We're lookin' strong for next season too...though we gotta' reach higher this season to give Dodie, Drew, and Sammy a senior senior to remember.
Maybe after a good season, we can land a solid big man for 2011-'12.
We look strong in the backcourt for next 3 seasons, though I'm sure we'll add a couple more down the road.
