From everything I've heard, Jim Les always personally scouts and evaluates every kid, regardless of which assistant coach first sees or knows about the kid. Jim is 100% responsible for the decision to offer and sign a kid. Believe what you want, but AD was Jim's recruit, as much as any other recruit we have signed.

I also agree! This puts us in a good position even if we still have just one scholarship to fill, but it would be great to have them all accounted for. While we've been able to get some good players late in the process, I would love to see us get ahead of the game and be able to recruit a year ahead on a regular basis.

I also agree with the post that said the graduation of our three senior guards this season could very well have been a big factor in this commitment!

Was JL not recruiting Ocherobia, and rather diligently from what I've heard? I'm sure there have been others as well.

Don't want to bring up anything negative after the great news, but we should be recruiting like we have two scholarships left to fill for next year. It seems from past experience most of the time someone leaves who is not getting to play as much as they like or are homesick. It is likely we will have another one to fill for next year. I am sure they are looking at plenty of players to do that. It is not a bad thing in all cases if someone leaves, could be good for the kid and BU in some cases. I would like to think everyone can play and be happy but that is unlikely.

Most coaches do keep recruiting even when they run out of scholarships. Some even keep signing players, and then deal with the over-signing later. JL doesn't do that, but he will keep looking at and keeping in contact with recruits.

Welcome to the BU family Remy, you're going to enjoy it, we're all very happy to have you become a Brave

But first, go out and win a state championship this season and maybe even Mr. Kentucky!

                Nice job JL & Co.

BTW- who was the last BU scholarship player recruited from Kentucky?

Answer (drag cursor over to see)- Saihou Jassey Rose Hill Christian HS of Ashland, Kentucky (though he only lived in Kentucky for one year, to play basketball. He was originally from Ghana).

Can anyone name any other former BU players from Kentucky?-
Hard to believe, there have only been 2 others from Kentucky in the long history of Bradley basketball.
Larry Bentley- Male HS, Louisville, KY 1973-1976
Pat Marshall- Shelbyville HS, Shelbyville, KY 1982-1984

Ahhhhh. Our old friend BUFAN. The "Maniscalco hater". I go back and look at your posts and you are perpetually negative on BU, Jim Les, and certain players. What's your beef, novello?!

Good guess. The answer is actually there in my post, but you had to do the cursor/highlight thing to see it.

I changed the post to reveal the answer-

Hard to believe, there have only been a total of 3 players from Kentucky in the long history of Bradley basketball.
Saihou Jassey- Rose Hill Christian Academy, Ashland, KY 2005-2007
Larry Bentley- Male HS, Louisville, KY 1973-1976
Pat Marshall- Shelbyville HS, Shelbyville, KY 1982-1984

Yes, but he never played for Bradley, unfortunately.
Grundy was from Warren Central HS in Bowling Green, KY.

That's what I thought. Uggh, what a disappointing situation that was.

Is it offically fall.....I thought that was the 23rd?

The paper said Abell will be on campus next fall....wouldn't that be THIS year since next fall is the 23rd and not here yet.

Maybe its THIS fall (23rd) and NEXT fall (year from know)....I dunno. I'm tired.
