  • "Michael Ochereobia...6-foot-8, 260 lb....
ESPN??™s Recruiting Nation described Ocherobia as follows:
???Ochereobia has a phenomenal, college-ready body with long arms, wide
shoulders, great muscle mass and definition in both his upper and lower
body. He is exceptionally strong and equally physical. He loves to bang inside
the paint and is consequently a very good post defender"

    • Michael Ochereobia, who is now a senior at WIU, had the best night of his career on Western Illinois' senior night. He scored 23 points and had 10 rebounds as Western beat IUPUI 75-70

      • Ochereobia won't wow anyone with his stats - but he has been consistent as a starter and occasional backup center

His averages right now for the season are at 9 ppg & 5.4 rpg & 59% FG accuracy
I would take that production from the 5-spot either as a starter or a backup

BTW - neither of Wichita's starting centers (Lufile, Coleby) even come close to those numbers - in fact the sum TOTAL of their scoring in 29.2 mpg (considerably more than Ochereobia) is 8.2 ppg
If you have that and surround it with good guard & wing play, then you can compete with anyone.

I went over to Macomb a few weeks ago to check out WIU and see Mo. Wasn't impressed with Michael at all but when you compare him to what we are getting from the 5 spot, I'd have to say he would have helped us. Probably still been a THur team with him.
