I read this article earlier but really don't know much about him......but BU would be a good education! And a real power forward would also be nice to have!
Video...
James Siakam {2011 Brehm Prep) ranks amongst the top 100 juniors in America and one of the elite players in Illinois. The 6'6 forward is an explosive athlete...

Seems like he'd be a 3/4 type of guy, rather than a straight up PF-- we have had a lot of those types of guys, but he looks very aggressive in that video and aggression is something you can't teach. Take a look... I'd hate to see him end up at SIU and go all Randal Falker on us.

Any new news on Siakam and where he's thinking to go? Provided the secret big will sign this guy could be a really nice pickup.

it is being rumored that James Siakam has verballed to Vanderbilt...but this does not mean it is confirmed..
Here is a good article on Thomas Welch by my buddy and fellow Vandy grad Josh Cooper. Josh is an excellent writer, a big time Vandy fan and...
The Vanderbilt premium forum has talk that he has committed to Vandy yesterday --

Still no official release from Vandy on this....
but we have something that gets a little closer to confirmation...
The writer of one of their sports sites says Siakam to Vandy is confirmed...
and one of the Vandy players - a kid who is also a Cameroon native as Siakam is, has re-posted a tweet saying Siakam has confirmed he's coming to Vandy...
this Vandy player is Steve Tchiengang

"It??™s been a busy week at Brehm Prep. Aaron Lee had two of his current seniors sign scholarship papers with Division I colleges.
James Siakam, a native of Cameroon, signed with Vanderbilt.
Siakam??™s brother Boris played at Western Kentucky. James had interest from Virginia. Illinois, Wisconsin and Marquette.
???I think most schools that recruited him see him as a three/four,??? Lee told Scout.com.
???He??™ll have to develop a little more and he can guard multiple positions. He brings a lot of things to the table in a 6-foot-6 frame.???

James Siakam went to Vanderbilt - and although he was hoping to play right away -- he didn't have the talent to crack the playing rotation so he redshirted last season.
This season - even in exhibition games - he was a deep reserve...
and in Vanderbilt's first game last night - Siakam didn't play at all - even in a game that by the 2nd half was a 15-20 point blowout much of the way
...another one who maybe aimed too high
