  • Max Bielfeldt

I was wondering if anyone who has seen him play could give me a scouting report of Max Bielfeldt. I have never seen him play. I admit I am underwelmed by the sound of him because he doesn't sound tall enough to be an inside player. But I have never seen him play. Can anyone fill me in on his game. I have a feeling he may be on our radar. I know he was interested in the U of I, but he won't get an offer there.

If he brings that type of energy, willing to sacrifice his body for the team and can rebound like O'Rear, I'd take him in a heart beat as long as he does not wear chops.

I've talked to some people who say Bielfeldt would prefer walk-on status at Illinois rather than a full ride somewhere else. Illinois' new athletic facility is named after their family and they have a storied history there.
This is just the tip of the iceberg...

I have heard this as well. One of the biggest names at the U of I.

That borders on criminal- He would be much better than O'Rear in MVC imo...

In other words NO CHANCE! Since he does not mind being a walk-on then why would U of I use a scholarship?

How does that work for other schools, but not us? i.e Hawkins is one of the biggest names in BU athletic history, but his kids did not want to go here... I guess we had Robertson walk-on for a year?

Maybe because Hawkins doesn't donate hundreds of thousands of dollars to Bradley.

I've always seen Hawkins in the BU annual report as being a fairly significant donor, although I'm not sure about the $ amount.

It's named after Max's grandfather because he "donated" 7 million dollars to the University of Illinois to get the new athletic facility built.

Hedge Funds can be a wonderful thing, and that's why Max can easilly aford to walk-on at Illinois.

I understand the connection to Illinois but why would he want to play little minutes there when he could possibly be all MVC type of player at BU.

it would be good to see Max in a BU uniform...another High IQ player that can bang and still score...and can knock down the "3" to boot....not to mention that is just another fine young man, that would make the BU nation proud...

                              Yes they have.
In years past, I have seen and talked to Max's Dad at several BU games.
                              Not recently though.
