He is an excellent ball handler who can penetrate the lane at will. He scores ALOT of points off layups and fast break opportunities. Make him shoot outside of 10-12 feet and his percentage is in the 30-35% range. He did play on a poor team this year and did have to shoot alot but it was common to see 23-28 attempts to get his 23 points including free throws. His free throw % is not what you look for in a point guard. I don't know what it is but would estimate it to be in the high 60% to low 70% range. This was strange as some games he would miss half his free throws bad yet other games he would sink 8 of 10.
He also lacks the commitment to defense that you need at our level. That is in part due to his lack of quickness or desire. IMO Sam is quicker and a better defender than DS is right now. We know what problems that has led to this season. That is also what makes DSE and Ruff different. They are/were better defenders and quicker.
His basketball IQ is very high as has been mentioned and his passing skills will improve but he never has been asked to be a passer in HS.Comment

Rivals has updated Stewart's profile. The removed all of the high profile schools that were interested, and are now just showing us, DePaul, and West Virginia. I guess they forgot Illinois offered him, or that other schools were still calling. Oh well.
They also updated his rating from 0 stars to 3 stars.

People who are homeowners take more pride and better care of their home than temporary renters. I like that BU is bringing players from the local area that take pride in their community and university. I don't think that is remotely close to true, and I don't think there's any evidence to support Peoria players producing a better or more passionate product at Bradley. None of the greatest players in the history of this program hail from Peoria, and I think it's a slight on those all-time greats to say that players from Peoria show more passion than they did. I have felt that this announcement was gonna come. Being around the program as much as I have this year I have figured that Donivine would come here. This kid is even at most of the women's games. You can really tell that he LOVES Bradley. It is great for Bradley to get him now because his stock is gonna shoot through the roof these next two years. I have a feeling that he will be a 5 star caliber player by the time that he is done. He is one of those special players that noone can stop. He is that good! HE has the potential to be one of the greatest Braves ever. What a catch for Coach Les! Interested in the talk of somebody else coming from the area. Andrew Jordan would be a HUGE pick up. He reminds me alot of Theron Wilson. Can't really think of anyone else in the area that we would need.Comment

Wow I've read a lot of nice things about him including the statement from midstatehoops, "He may be the state's most talented player in years." I love reading all the lists of schools (different depending on which site) he considered and he choose Bradley, great catch JL! Love to see a kid with a love for BU. Congrats DS great day to be a Brave. Now I would like to address some of the things being posted on this thread. I have seen DS played probably 15-18 times each in the last 3 years. We have a very good one in DS. Does he lack in some areas? Yes but his upside is very very high. As pointed out he has a very high BB IQ. Someone pointed out he is a poor shooter. Not necessarly so. He does need to improve his outside shooting but when surrounded by good players that was not an issue. This year Limo did not have the players to go with DS that they had his first 2 years and shooting was not that much of a problem. This year everyone double teamed him because Limo did not have the other options to score as in his first 2 years. Some people have said he is not very quick. While that maybe true, he is not slow by any means. What he lacks in speed he makes up for his court vision. He will NOT be double teamed at BU and if you are open he will get you the ball. Above average ball handler and a great passer. Sounds like a point guard to me? I don't think we will see him as a 2 guard. Needs to improve his free throw shooting and man defense but his upside is very huge. Limestone has been known to be a very poor defensive team taking chances on their press to get the easy baskets. When in the half court Limo was not the best defenders you'll ever see. DS was being recruited by some heavyweights and that should be a good sign. I think we are going to love him in a BU uniform. Stewart and Alexander are not even the quickest on their own team. In addition to Weeks and Jordan, both Dorsey from Woodruff and Deal from Richwoods are quicker than Stewart. Speaking of Deal, their is nobody in the entire area that plays as hard as him. This guy takes no time off and only knows one speed.... all out. I have seen him less than Stewart but his effort is always the same.Comment
