Just maybe he was a bit overrated...but time will tell....he's a junior/juco transfer at UCF (Central Florida)

UCF played against a school hardly anyone's ever heard of, Flagler..
..and they barely held on to win 78-70........
Dwight McCombs played off the bench and got one basket and a turnover...
while MJ's son, Marcus Jordan had 19 and transfers Josh Crittle & Jeffrey Jordan did not play..

One of UCF's assistants is Brendan Suhr -- long time NBA guy (assistant & exec.) who is a business partner with Jake Eastman's dad, Kevin Eastman.

One of their top assistants is Darren Tillis who is friend and was teammate in 1981-1982 on the Cleveland State Vikings --

this is a 2-year old thread that I am dragging up because I checked the CSM Top 144 today and they have UCF ranked at #74...

So, in the absence of much else to talk about -- I have to say I am a bit surprised at this ranking....

Central Florida will be a team in chaos this season - they were hit with HUGE sanctions, they have a post-season ban this year,
and numerous players have departed including Marcus Jordan and Josh Crittle - and the guy we were talking about in this thread, Dwight McCombs.....
(btw- McCombs turned out to be a pretty ineffective big man - probably greatly overrated in 2010 when he was courting offers from BCS schools -
finishing his entire D-I career at UCF with just 134 pts & 124 rebounds in 47 games.)

Anyway -- this Top 144 ranking says...
" ...this is a team (Central Florida) that has the size and athleticism to compete with the likes of Memphis."

I am doubtful... but time will tell......
