  • BU recruit for 2008- Scott Suggs

Scott Suggs is a 6'6" wing guard from Washington, Missouri, with very good ball-handling and shooting skills. He is a rising prospect, rated at 4-stars, and is now getting interest from numerous big schools like Kansas, North Carolina, Purdue, Illinois, Missouri, and others. Bradley has been interested and has recruited him, but it will be tough now that some of the big boys are involved.

I believe it's Matt Roth (class of 200 and Washington High School, IL that are playing in the T of C.

Matt Roth's Washington team is in the tournament, but tiptop is one of the people organizing and running the Trusted Choice Tournament of Champions, so maybe Washington, MO has been added? One thing I noticed is the Washington is listed as playing 2 games on Saturday, Nov. 25. And if this schedule was correct, Washington and Chicago Washington would both be playing 3 games in under 48 hours. Could there be a mistake in the listing? Every other team has only 1 or at most 2 games in the 3 day tournament.
So maybe one or 2 of those games is Washington, MO?

New report on Scott Suggs. The article now lists Missouri, Illinois, Kansas, Washington, Saint Louis, and Florida. But Missouri, Illinois, and Florida are said to be the frontrunners. His list no longer includes Bradley or Southern Illinois.

Scott Suggs long ago stopped listing Bradley, and that's understandable as he has narrowed his choices to places like Illinois, Mizzou, UK, and Kansas.
But in the latest article he says something that bugs me a little.

""I am thinking after July that I will narrow it down to three and make my decision before the season starts," said Suggs. "I am still looking at the same schools, but Saint Louis is a possibility, too. I have visited Saint Louis, Washington, Missouri and Illinois. Those are the only schools that I've visited at this time."

But Scott Suggs DID visit Bradley and was at the DePaul game early last season.
Several of us saw and talked with him and he was reported to have been there by others as well.
Wonder why he didn't mention that?

Eric Buescher addresses this issue in the Dave Reynolds story.
Bradley is aiming high, and often loses out on the top recruits.
But just having the name Bradley associated with these top kids is a great benefit!

Scott Suggs appeared to have dropped Bradley from his list a while ago. Now there is a rumor from the Missouri fan board that the Suggs' have called Bruce Weber, Mike Anderson (coach of Missouri), and Lorenzo Romar (coach of Washington University), and informed them that his final 3 schools are Illinois, Missouri, and Washington.

He also notified Rick Majerus that he had eliminated St. Louis University. That likely means he'll pursue Matt Roth and Kyle Kuric a little harder.

Here is a new article posted this afternoon on Scout network about Scott Suggs.
It is a premium article, so you won't see much without a subscription. But it basically says just what the rumors had reported. Suggs has narrowed his choices down to 3 schools- Missouri, Illinois, and Washington. He will decide soon--
