Quinton Chevious, Niles Notre Dame-Class of 2011...
has become a real team leader...
Even Chicago St. Pats' coach said this...
"St. Pat's head coach Mike Bailey said that Chievous was, "the man" and said that over the last month and a half, the 6-foot-5 wing had been playing as well anybody in the conference."
Here is some recent coverage...his last 3 games..
Chevious 22 pts in a game that said to be an upet, but Niles Notre Dame won by 96-65!!
Notre Dame 58 - Joliet Catholic 53, Chevious 26 pts, 13 rebs
25 and 8...
BTW - on the same page in the Sun Times, Flash Flanagan has an article...
.....I am truly surprised he doesn't give Bish's team that earned 2 state titles in 2003, 2004 any ranking...

Quinton Chievous - according to some recent reports injured an elbow (not stated whther right or left) and he has a small crack in one of the bones and will need to to rest and sit out a few weeks.
These injuries typically all heal but take a few weeks of immobilizing the elbow. That, in turn, leads to the elbow stiffening up during the immobilizing period and then taking some time to restore full mobility later....so he might be somewhat hampered much of the summer.

Too bad for the kid, but didn't the same thing happen with DSE? A kid who maybe had high major talent, but missed most of his Junior/Senior AAU season with an injury and fell off most teams radars."How do you go from where you are to where you want to be? I think you have to have an enthusiasm for life. You have to have a dream, a goal, and you have to be willing to work for it." - Jim Valvano

not exactly the same thing...DSE's two injuries were an ankle and a wrist...but it did cause some to drop off....
I have a son who had a very similar-sounding elbow injury - but it is hard to precisely compare without knowiong what Q had...
just a tiny hairline crack at the proximal end of the radius from a fall and hyperextension, and it did trouble several weeks even after he was cleared to play again...
