  • BU recruit for 2008- Nick Freundt

Nick Freundt is a 6'5" wing guard/small forward from Batavia high school. He is just a junior this season. As a soph he averaged 18 points, 6 rebounds, 2 assists, and 2 steals a game. He is a part of the Illinois Wolves AAU program, the same AAU team Sam Maniscalco, Evan Turner (Ohio State), and Demetri McCamey (illinois), and Carlton Fay (SIU) play for.

There is a new article on Rivals.com that
This article might be a premium article--

It talks about how Freundt had a somewhat mediocre summer, but then found out he had played all summer on a broken ankle (broken fibula). He just took an unofficial visit to DePaul, and he says he has offers from Bradley, Illinois State, and Dayton.

I think that if he continues to develop he will be going to a major bcs school, having seen him play a few times since he leaves in the town next to mine back home, i can say that this kid is really good, and has carried Batavia in his 2 years there, getting them to the sectional final this past year before losing to my high school ( ).

Another new article about Nick Freundt--

It may be a premium article. It reports that Nick Freundt is having a great start to his summer AAU play. He has recently received an offer from Xavier. The article says--
"When asked about schools, Fruendt said, "I had four offers coming into the spring from DePaul, Southern Illinois, Bradley, and Dayton. They have all been in contact. I got an offer from Xavier last week as well as Wisconsin-Green Bay and Akron. Some of the other places I have been talking to are Northwestern, Vanderbilt, Indiana State, and Notre Dame."
