2012 recruit Jay Simpson- verbals to Purdue

One time Bradley recruit, Jay Simpson of Champaign Central HS, ended up at Purdue the last 2 seasons. After a redshirt season, he was playing regularly this season, and averaging 4.3 ppg and 3.6 rpg as a redshirt freshman.
But his career ended today when he was found to have hypertrophic cardiomyopathy. That is the abnormal heart condition that Taylor Brown was feared to have, though it was later found that he did not have the disorder.
There have been a number of cases where college athletes have died from it, including Bradley baseball player Phil Kaiser, who died from this condition in 2010.
