  • BU recruit- class of 2010- Flavien Davis

Flavien Davis is a 6'5" small forward from the class of 2010 (currently a junior). Rivals reports Bradley is recruiting him. He plays for Milwaukee Lutheran High School.

    Rivals profile-

A new premium article on the Indiana Rivals site reports that Davis was offered a full scholarship to Marquette by Tom Crean while he was a high school freshman. That offer is no longer valid since Crean left Marquette, but he currently has offers from Baylor and UW-Green Bay.
Flavien Davis is a 4-star recruit and is ranked the #86 player nationally in the class of 2010. His team is currently 4-0 and he is averaging 14.5 ppg, 8 rpg, 2.5 steals per game, and 2.5 apg. His scoring average was closer to 17 ppg his freshman and sophomore seasons.

Here is a brief clip from the premium article with a mention of Bradley--

His temporary struggles last spring have not scared away some programs and the interest is likely to go up as word spreads on his slimmed down physique and team success.
He was offered by UW-Green Bay late in the summer and we went up there for an unofficial visit and he enjoyed watching how hard they played and took a lot away from their kids and that has motivated him to get it done this year."
The coach added that Creighton scouted Davis and another Division One prospect last week in a big matchup while bad weather kept Bradley, Green Bay and Loyola-Illinois from making recently scheduled trips. Indiana State is also very interested and has plans to make the trip up to Milwaukee soon.

Yup, he'd be a great fit at BU and uniform #14 is presently unoccupied!!

--looks like he already has an offer from Tom Crean at Indiana...
"Davis is a 6-foot-5 soph from Milwaukee Lutheran. He was reportedly offered by Tom Crean
when he was at Marquette. Davis is built well but was disappointing this evening with not
getting into the flow or hitting from outside and his D-Harris team blew a big halftime lead
was beaten by a game group of Kentucky Hoopstars. Hopefully we will catch Davis on a better day down the road."

a small report from the AAU circuit....and it involves a brawl at the AAU event championship game
(mostly involving the players, coaches, and fans of the Mac Irvin Fire)
..that caused the game to be called before it was over...

"The Flavian Davis led Wisconsin Scholars quite literally walked away with the
17-and-under championship over the Mac Irvin Fire.

After several altercations between fans, Fire coaches, and Fire players, the
championship game was called, with 2 minutes remaining in the first half.

Not quite picture perfect for the Scholars but its nothing to shame either, as
they held a seven point lead at the time the game was called."

"Flavian Davis, SG/SF, Wisconsin Scholars : Not an overwhelmingly athletic
player, Davis uses his body well to get to the hoop and the free throw line.
He still needs work on his perimeter shooting."
... he looked a bit out of shape and at times uninterested. In the second half
against SW Ill. Jets, Davis was more aggressive on the offensive end and
showed nice touch on his floaters in the lane. He hit a pair of jumpers, but
the majority of his buckets were in the paint. Going forward he needs to
show more desire and intensity throughout the contest.

This rangy 6??™4??? combo guard led his Wisconsin Lutheran H.S. team to a state
championship in March, and now he??™s leading the Wisconsin Scholars AAU
program this spring and summer. He can score in a variety of ways, and had
a 30-point plus game against Indiana Elite in an AAU event earlier this spring."

"Wisconsin Swing forward Kyle Kelm was on crutches all weekend and is
expected to be out until July."

Davis to Loyola Chicago. According to this link BU wasn't in the picture so I guess you guys backed off him also. Rated a 92 by ESPN. Wow. That's gotta be one of the highest rated guys Whitesell has ever landed.
Dinma Odiakosa 6'8 255......The Nigerian Nightmare!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! 37 points and 27 boards in 2 wins over Bradley. "Will Egolf is 6'9 and he had 4 rebounds. That's not good enough and he's not good enough"....Dick Versace 2/9/10

Actually, I believe that is true. Bradley backed off him a long time ago.

But surely you don't think that just because that ESPN/Scouts, Inc. site doesn't mention Bradley means they were never involved? The site also never mentioned Loyola either, until around 9:15 this morning. These recruiting sites are notorious for their inaccuracies, and especially when it comes to mentions of the midmajors.

Here is the article about him committing, and it doesn't mention any other schools, other than Loyola, despite the fact we know he was recruited by a number of other schools.
So why would any intelligent fan try to make something out of the fact the Bradley isn't mentioned, unless to troll a bit?

Also, the high rating for Davis is based on evaluations from a couple years ago. His rating has fallen off a lot these last 2 years, but that ESPN site apparently is outdated.

Scout.com has him as just a 2-star recruit, and all the big schools that were recruiting him in past (not just Bradley) years had fallen off. At one time he was a 4-star.-
