  • Cubs looking @ Randy Johnson....

This kind of took me by surprise....I don't know if this is because they think Dempster is gone or the Peavy deal will not happen...but I would welcome the Big Unit in a Cub uni ...even for a year!

Hasnt his arm fallen off yet? I would like for the Cubs to go after pitching, but I would pass on Johnson unless the price was right.

I saw the D-Backs for the last 3 months of the season this year and Johnson pitched pretty good. When Webb and Haren struggled for a little bit down the stretch, he picked them up with several outstanding starts. I'd take a chance on him. Wish the Sox would give him a shot.

        yea!!!
let's get another old battered pitcher that is a genius idea!!!

that way we can make the bullpen full of Rich Harden's injury proned arm and Randy Johnson's arm who was pitching during the Reagan administration!!!

gotta love Chicago front offices motto:
"Let's bring in old guys way past their prime (griffey)"
Gloria: Who's side are you on?
Jay: She's my daughter, you're my wife. Let's remember what's important, there's a football game on today

Yeah, Randy was pitching in the good ole days. I agree not too many Sox fans were happy with acquiring Griffey. The D'Backs lost their division when they paniced when the Dodgers got Manny. The kids they had were doing the job, but they got Dunn and Eckstein. Weren't the same after that.

They're screwing up big time this post-season. If they dont resign Dempster it will be the dumbest thing they've ever done.

Just throwing this out there... Why not sign AJ Burnett as a free agent instead of Dempster? I like Burnett better.... The Cubs probably wont do this....

I think the Lou Brock trade might have been a little more dumber. Signing Fukodome could prove to be just as dumb.

Paying the heavy contract of Soriano is the biggest blunder of the Cubs IMO...even though he hit 29 homers the guy is a huge liability in the out field and strikes out @ an alarming rate...very selfish and not anywhere close to a lead-off man......waste of $136 million!

Yes, Big Mike, Soriano was the biggest blunder and will have the longest effect of all the blunders. Isn't he signed for 20 years... I hate watching him, period.

GTD, don't you like the hop when Soriano catches a fly ball?
