    The Cubs also clinched home field last night against all teams in the West Division.

    BTW, besides displaying blue Ws last night after the win there were quite a few holding up signs with a 4 for the magic number. I would imagine there will be some 2s displayed after tonight's game if the Cubs win.

      Absolutely no change tonight:

      Both NL home field and Wild Card
      MN = 5 Phil (163-91-67)
      MN = 5 NY (163-91-67)

        Magic number down to 2 with a game that is an instant classic!
        Bradley 72 - Illini 68 Final

        ???It??™s awful hard,??™??™ said Illini freshman guard D.J. Richardson, the former Central High School guard who played prep school ball a few miles from here and fought back tears outside the locker room. ???It??™s a hometown thing. It??™s bragging rights.??™

                  Congrats to the Cubs for a great season so far, and their first back to back division championships in goodness knows how long! Winning divisions never gets tiring, but I think we have much higher goals set for this year. Hopefully this is just the beginning of a great month of baseball to come!

                        OK, my one daughter, her husband, and kids are all White Sox fans. BTW, their MN is now 5.

                          I can do that.....never been a Sox hater. I always tell people I come from a mixed marriage...Dad is a Cubs fan, Mom is a Sox fan.....apparently when you cross the two you get a monkey with glasses

                            Phils win so the National League overall home field advantage MN remains at 1 for the Cubs.

                              Cubs win as they clinch the best record in the National League and home field throughout the NL playoffs.

                                I think that win really made things tough for Jim Hendry and Lou. Jason Marquis has pitched really well lately and has all but assured himself of a playoff spot (for the first time in 3 years). He no doubt deserves it, but it'll be interesting to see who is the odd man out now. I have a feeling it's gonna be Chad Gaudin.
