-The Kentucky Colonels of the old ABA hired female jockey Penny Ann Early (who had never played basketball in her life) and put her in a game in 1968 for 1 second to inbound a ball, then removed her from the game asan admitted publicity stunt just to say they had a woman play for them.
-The Tampa Bay Lightning of the NHL signed women goalie to play in a couple exhibition games in 1992 and 1993.
-Canadian women's hockey player Hayley Wickenheiser just signed to play hockey in a 3rd tier Swedish men's pro hockey league.
-Ila Borders was signed by the St. Paul Saints of the Independent Northern League and pitched for them a few times, then moved around the league to several other teams mostly as a publicity stunt.-
