Zach McAllister has had his first minor league appearance and the result is very goo dnews.
Zach is on the Gulf Coast League (Rookie League) Yankees, referred to as the GCL Yankees.
He pitched 2 innings in relief yesterday (the 5th and 6th) and gained the victory for his team, allowing no runs, 2 hits, and 2 strikeouts.
Zach McAllister from IVC had his second outing
and the results were not good.
Zach pitched one inning, got the loss, and gave up 3 hits, four runs, two walks.
Same link as above to current stats, he's now 5-1 with a 2.81 ERA. Still just has one start, and doesn't have any saves. Good to see him having success though. Team is in first place too.
GCL Yankees at 1.5 games out of first place, and Zach
is 5-2, with 3.09 ERA, in 11 games (started one),
35 innings pitched, given up 35 hits, 14 runs, 12 earned runs,
2 HRs, 26 K's, 6 BB (nice control!).
The GCL (Gulf Coast League) Yankees went 31-20 (.60
"Zach McAllister, RHP
McAllister finished second in the Gulf Coast League with five wins in 11 appearances (one start), posting a 3.09 ERA over 35 innings. He fanned 28 and, after a rocky beginning, really began to settle in and posted a 1.75 ERA over his final nine appearances. The Illinois high school star had committed to Nebraska but opted to sign, and the Yanks couldn't be happier. At 6-foot-5 and 230 pounds, he cuts an imposing figure on the mound and should be one of the more interesting players to follow next year in New York's system"
