You had- the scum bag McNamee turned informant,
- the absent close friend Petite who cheated out of desperation and now was repenting through his deposition,
- the group of "how did they get elected" congressman/congresswomen who used their 5 minutes to make inane comments,
- the group of seemingly logical congressman/women who were trying to at least make some sense of what the two sides were saying
- the emergence of political party alignment with the republicans defending the scumbag, cheater, drug abuser Clemens and the democrats supporting the scumbag, drug dealer McNamee
- the shyster lawyers supporting Clemens who were whispering in Clemens ear like a scene out of the Godfather - these guys might be the worst defense team in history!
- the wife who took a shot of HGH without her husband's knowledge
- the nanny who can't speak good english (illegal alien perhaps???)
- Clemens throwing the players union, Bud Selig, and his agents under the bus
- And Rocket Roger himself. He was beautiful in his indignation. Many scoundrals will wrap themslef in the American flag when they can't field a direct answer and Roger did just that.
- While its a travesty that Congress is wasting time with people of this nature, I don't fault them in the end. In fact, yesterday's hearing would not have happend if Rocket Rog wasn't getting such bad advice from his leagal counsel. The owners and the players union are the real scumbags for not dealing with this situation years ago. Congress should knock the wind out of them and the Justice Dept. should charge Clemens with perjury.

I don't see why this is an issue that Congress should be digging around in. Don't we already have laws regarding drugs and drug use at every other level, city, county, state, etc.
And why just baseball, when we know drug use is rampant in bodybuilding, weightlifting, wrestling, track & field, football, and just abouit every other sport. In fact, there are probably more illegal drugs consumed in Hollywood every day than is all of professional sports in a year. And there are other professions where drug use endangers the public infinitely more than sports, such as truckers, public transportation workers, airline pilots, and law enforcement officials. Heck, even congressmen should be investigated before sports professionals, IMO.
And finally, if Congress does feel compelled to get involved, why didn't these self-aggrandising congressmen ask these more pointed questions, put the witnesses under oath, and use their subpoena power back when they had a bunch of heavy users like Barry Bonds, Mark McGwire, Jose Canseco, Jason Giambi, and others in front of them? Maybe they could have gotten to the root of this problem a little sooner.

The following is a statement issued today, allegedly from Congressman Burton's office
"I would like to verify the witness??™s statement. For years now a growing number of my constituents have been baseball players ??” and I have come to know them well. They have honored me with their support and with their friendship. Indeed I can proudly say some of my very best friends are baseball players. However, Mr. CHAIRMAN, at this time very unfortunately I have to leave these proceedings in order to preside over a very important committee of my own committee. But before I leave I do want to say this. These hearings on the steriods are in no way what-so-ever a slur upon the great baseball people. Because I can state from my own knowledge and experience ??” that baseball players are among the most loyal ??” most law-abiding ??” patriotic, hard working American citizens in this land. And it would be a shame. Mr. CHAIRMAN if we allowed a few rotten apples to bring a bad name to the whole barrel. Because from the time of the great Wee Willie Keeler up through the time of Henry Aaron right up to the present day "titan" in front of us today ??” baseball players have been pioneers in building and defending our great nation. They are the soil o??™ the earth and one of the backbones of this country."
(please note, this is a spoof - the above quote was lifted from the movie The Godfather and adapted to yesterday's hearing)

Clemens wife sure looked good in Sports Illustrated though
My opinion what is done is done let's just make it from here on out if any player is caught cheating they should be kicked out of major league baseball period for the rest of their life. All this ranting and raving is a deflection from real problems in our society. Congress should be spending their precious time solving issues the affect the everyday working person not trying to get some photo opp."Educate and inform the whole mass of the people...they are the only sure reliance for the preservation of our liberty."

I feel cheated and that MLB committed a fraud against the American public. They knew that illegal drugs were part of the culture of baseball, yet allowed it to continue and they inturn prospered from the commiting of this fraud.
I personally believe MLB owes everyone who spent a dime on this trash their money refunded. I also believe that every player who admitted to drug use should return every penny they made while they were using drugs to cheat.
Until the Im sorrys stop and the realy apologizing happens with refunds and checkbooks the sport is dead in my eyes.
