  • Bears Hall of Fame Running Back Gale Sayers passes away

The greatest running back I have ever seen was Gale Sayers. Unfortunately, his career was cut short by a series of knee injuries.
He passed away this morning at the age of 77.

For those too young to have seen him, here is his bio-

Anyone too young to remember Sayers' moves should watch "Brian's Song." Actual footage of Sayers weaving through multiple defenders like a hot knife through butter (sorry for the cliche) is included.

My first BU hoops game was on 12/30/1963. My dad took me to watch the Braves defeat Arizona 67-59. He helped me get Coach Orsborn's autograph before the game.

Imagine the records he would have broke if he hadn't been injured. He was probably the most elusive running back that ever played the game (sorry Barry Sanders, you're a close second).

Were just talking about where he ranks in all time Chicago Bears/Chicago football.

Does Urlacher count as 'Chicago' and does that impact where Sayers falls?

Nice win against the Jaguares. was a little worried at HT!
