  • Mike Trout to sign largest contract in MLB history

Mike Trout of the California Angels is about to sign a 12-year $430 million contract extension
    https://www.cbssports.com/mlb/news/m...s-report-says/

It's the largest contract in pro sports history.
    It translates to-
    $430,000,000 over 12 years
    $36,000,000 per year
$221,193 per game (assuming 162 games per year)
$24,577 per inning (assuming 9 innings per game)
$66,978 per at-bat (based on his average number of at-bats per season)

Interesting note about the $430 million extension Mike Trout will reportedly sign-

Trout lives in New Jersey, not far from his parents' house where he grew up. But if he lived in California, because of the extremely high state income taxes there, he would end up paying more in income taxes than he actually kept! $216 million in state and federal income taxes, and $214 left over to keep. So he will apparently save a little by living in New Jersey, though they are not far behind California's highest income tax in the country.
