Speaking of Bradley Baseball - could this be the year?
Maybe we will get a hint as the Baseball Braves face hold an intrasquad game October 12 and then face their alumni counterparts in an exhibition game October 13.
Head Coach Elvis Dominguez is heading into his 11th season at Bradley
His cumulative record at Bradley, with one post-season appearance is 244-273-1, but his MVC record is a bit troubling - 74-134 and we've never really competed for the league title.
Everyone likes Elvis & he's done better the past few years but then that is quite possibly due largely to the exit of two of the best MVC teams.Comment

they will play as a summer collegiate team...in one of the premier COLLEGIATE LEAGUES on the country!!
That might mean that some of the Bradley baseball players won't even need to go out of state during the summer if they want to play in the Collegiate Leagues...

Need help from any of Bradley baseball old timers...
I bought this Bradley baseball dugout jacket - it appears to be from the 1970's based on the style & the label & manufacturer
..and having asked a few guys who played back then, it appears no player ever wore #40 - so it must have been a coach's jacket - possibly Chuck Buescher's?
anyone know more about what year and who might have worn it?
The old year books and online history notes only the numbers the players wore - and their numbers were always #1 thru #25, 26, or 27 depending on how many players were on the roster - but no player appears to have ever wore a jersey with numbers in the 30's or 40's, however - the records are a bit spotty when you get back to the 70's and earlier with no reliable way of knowing who wore what number. But the very large size (a size 48 ) plus the number (#40) make me think it was one of the coaches.
Regardless - it is amazing warm and in great condition...I love it..Comment

BU Baseball is playing great!
I know this thread is titled Bradley baseball, but also a quick shout-out to BU softball. The softball team was picked 8th in the preseason poll, but they have also played well, especially recently. They are 22-15 overall, and 9-5 in the MVC so far, and they are in 5th place, only 1 game out of 3rd and just 1½ games out of 2nd place in the MVC.
They have won 4 games in a row, 8 of their last 10, and 15 of their last 19.
They start a 3-game series Friday at UNI.Comment

Bradley baseball beat Valparaiso this afternoon at Dozer Field in Peoria in the first game of a 3-game weekend series. It was their 4th win in a row, and 16th win out of their last 19 games.
BU baseball is now 28-13 overall, and 8-5 in the MVC. They are still in 5th place, but only 1 1/2 games behind the MVC leader .
Bradley has 9 regular season games left, and 8 of them are MVC games, including 2 more games in the series with Valparaiso.-
