Cameron Roegner's stats are awesome. He was drafted in the 22nd round in 2016, and now pitches for the Brewers' Advanced Class A team the Carolina Mudcats in the Carolina League. In 53⅓ innings, he has yielded just 4 runs, and is 6-1. No other starter has more than 2 wins. Cam is 25 years old, older than the average Class A level pitcher, so I expect he will get a promotion pretty soon.

#3 seed Dallas Baptist got beaten 9-0 by #2 seed Southern Mississippi in the opening round of the NCAA baseball tournament in the Fayetteville, Arkansas Regional-

It is double-elimination, so they are still alive, but can't afford another loss.
In the other game in that Regional, host and #1 seed Arkansas beat #4 seed Oral Roberts 10-2. DBU will play ORU Saturday at 2 PM in an elimination game.

They will play the loser of the Ole-Miss-St. Louis game at noon Sunday.

#3 seed Dallas Baptist stays alive in the Fayetteville, Arkansas Regional of the NCAA Baseball Tournament They defeated and eliminated #4 seed Oral Roberts Saturday 18-9.
Then on Sunday, DBU defeated and eliminated #2 seed Southern Mississippi 9-4.
So now they will play undefeated #1 seed Arkansas Sunday night at 8:00 PM. If DBU can win, they will play again for the championship Monday night at 7:30 PM.



#3 seed Missouri State also remains alive in the Oxford, Mississippi Regional. After a first round loss to #2 seed Tennessee Tech, MSU defeated #4 seed St. Louis on Saturday, and will play another elimination game at 9:00 PM Sunday night against the loser of the Mississippi-Tennesee tech game that is currently in progress. If they can win that game, they will advance to a game Monday at 1:00 PM against the winner of the Ole Miss-Tennesee Tech game.

Dallas Baptist lost their late game tonight (Sunday) 4-3 to hoist Arkansas, and they are eliminated.

The other MVC team in the NCAA Tournament, Missouri State is playing an elimination game against Tennessee Tech that didn't get started until almost 10 PM.

btw- for those who might root for former MVC Baseball powers Wichita State & Creighton...

-Wichita State had a crappy year after starting out pretty well. They went 25-5 in non-conference play the went 9-14 in the American Conference to finish near the bottom. They obviously did not play in the post-season. Their attendance dropped to the lowest it's been since 1998 but their AD blames the weather (sound familiar?).

-Creighton also played well against non-conference opponents (26-7) but finished under .500 in the Big East and went nowhere.

Two Bradley players were drafted in the Major League Baseball draft, which concluded today after 40 rounds-

Junior Right-handed pitcher Boby Johnson- from Miller, Missouri was drafted in the 16th round by the Colorado Rockies. He was 4-2 with a 3.93 ERA in 24 appearances, 23 of them in relief.

Junior 1st baseman Luke Mangieri from Dunlap was drafted in the 25th round by the Pittsburgh Pirates. He hit .322 this past season for Bradley.
