In the final game of the first round, #7 seed Valparaiso scored 8 runs in the final 3 innings to upset #2 seed Dallas Baptist, last year's tournament winner.
So that may be a break for Bradley. Bradley now plays Valparaiso in the 4th game Thursday at 7:30 PM tonight-

Bradley is now 31-17. Valpo was 19-32 in the regular season, and 6-15 in the MVC. Bradley was 2-1 against Valpo in the regular season.

wow - that is an upset--
DBU is good and their starting pitcher yesterday, Trevor Conn was the best pitcher in the MVC - he was 8-1, with the best ERA in the Valley at 2.54
Then Valpo also scored a bunch off reliever Kragen Kechely, who was 6-0 up to that point and 2 more runs off saves leader MacGregor Hines.
In all Dallas Baptist pitchers had to throw 223 pitches (to Valpo's 148 and Bradley pitchers only threw 10 a very important factor when all these pitchers have to come right back on multiple consecutive days!!

In 1968, the MVC consisted of 2 divisions, East & West. Bradley finished 1st in the East Division, then won a best-of-three playoff against West Division winner Tulsa to advance to the NCAA Tournament. There was no MVC Tournament as there is now, but only a best 2 out of 3 playoff between the winners of the East and West divisions. An MVC Tournament started in 1971, though that year it was a much different format- it was not a post-season tournament, and games were played on campus sites. Then starting in 1972, it was switched to a postseason tournament at a single site.
So Bradley has never won the MVC Tournament.

ISU is currently playing Dallas Baptist, with DBU trailing 2-1 in the 3rd - wouldn't that be a shocker if the #1 seed was eliminated in the first 20 hours of the tourney!

The #4 seed Indiana State vs. #1 seed Missouri State game was schedule to start at 4:30 PM, however, it has been delayed by the previous games going longer than expected. It is about to start now.

That means that Game 4- the Bradley-Valparaiso game, scheduled to start at 7:30 PM will probably not get started until after 9 PM.

SIU is eliminated by Indiana State, Evansville was eliminated yesterday so the upper half of the bracket has only InSU & Missouri State remaining.

Whoever wins the current game between Dallas Baptist & Valparaiso will join Bradley as the only teams left in the lower half of the Bracket.

Both of the teams in the DBU/Valpo game have a loss as does Indiana State

Dallas Baptist came back to win the game 7-5 over Valpo. So Valpo is eliminated, and DBU will play Bradley tonight in the 4th game of the day. That game was scheduled to start at 7:30 PM, but due to delays, it likely will not start until well after 10 PM tonight.

Up next is Missouri State vs. Indiana State.

it will start at 11am tomorrow

Missouri State wins the upper half of the bracket- they are one of the teams in the Championship game
The lower half of the bracket is between Bradley & DBU. If Bradley wins the 11am game, they advance, but if Bradley loses,
then there will be a 2nd game between DBU & Bradley for that final spot in the Title game (since it is double elimination).
