  • New Feature on BF.com - Sports ldiot of the Month!

This will be a monthly contest where bf.com posters can nominate Sports Idi@ts during each month. At the end of each month posters can vote for the stupidest Sports Idi@t of that month.

Mods, can you make this a 'sticky'?

Lines are open for August! Our first nominee for Sports Idi@t of August:

ALDON SMITH, FORMER SF 49er OLB!
This moron gets arrested the night of their 1st off day of fall camp for DUI and Hit & Run. The 5 time NFL violation loser is canned after restructuring his 2015 contract to pay him for # of games played and # of defensive snaps played in 2015 (which are now both ZERO!)...

What a maroon! Aldon Smith, you're our first entry for Sports Idi@t of August 2015!

If any of you have other nominees for Sports Idi@t of August 2015 (players, recruits, coaches, owners, etc) be sure to post them here on BF.COM....

The police in Erie County, NY say it could be 2 months before they are done analyzing evidence and a decision is made whether there was a crime.
Maybe they should consult the Peoria States Attorney. He only took about 15 minutes to declare Daniel Ruffin guilty, arrest him, exaggerate the findings and evidence, and throw him in jail.

Norwood Teague - August Sports Idi@t Candudate

Another contender for August Sports Idi@t,
NORWOOD TEAGUE, University of Minnesota (now former)Athletic Director....

This idi@t has been sexually harassing university employees and a Minneapolis beat writer covering the university. Unfortunately for Norwood, he doesn't understand his sexual harassing tweets/texts are out there forever for his victims to use against him.

Sheldon Richardson August Candidate for Sports Idi@t

SHELDON RICHARDSON, NY Jets DL, arrested for driving 143 mph, evading police, with drugs, an automatic weapon and a 12 year old boy in his vehicle.

Oh yeah, this incident occurred just a couple days after the NFL suspended SHELDON for recreational drug abuse (which only occurs after 3-4 separate failed drug tests)..

Sheldon welcome to the August Sports Idi@t contest!

If there is a sub-category for stupidest college basketball player, here is a worthy nomination-
Buffalo's Justin Moss, the MAC Player of the Year, accused of theft

Justin Moss is their top scorer and rebounder (17.5ppg/9.2rpg) and the reigning MAC Player of the Year.
Somehow I suspect new head coach Nate Oaks will find a way to get his star player reinstated quickly.

ok - set me straight - there's something I just don't get....but please don't attack me, just asking a question...
the guy has ALREADY had harassment lawsuits brought against him, he has even settled twice in regards to sexual discrimination lawsuits - so he must have known he wouldn't or couldn't defend the accusations - although be it noted he was never arrested nor did he apparently ever have police investigate..

one of which cases was four years ago while he was at VCU...and even this Minnesota beat reporter says she was well aware of all the guy's terrible and harassing behavior over two years ago...
Even the University President Eric Kaler is saying SOMEONE who knew about this stuff should have & had the responsibility to report it to him but never did.

so...how was this guy able to keep doing what he was doing for at least 2 or 3 more years at Minnesota when lots of people ALREADY KNEW all about this?
Why the decision - especially by the Minnesota beat reporter - to continue to keep this whole story quiet as if to protect the guy?
Was the press afraid of ticking the guy off, losing their source for reports in the Athletic Dept., or maybe even getting sued for defamation?
What ever the reasons it was kept quiet for at least 2 or 3 years while other women were getting harassed, then why are those reasons not stopping them from outting the guy now?
Wouldn't everyone teach their daughters that the first tip-off of something that's not right is the guy calls and wants to meet late at night in a bar for drinks & to be bold & report if he did touch inappropriately?
Glad the guy is finally outted and will be replaced in his Big Ten position...but there are lessons to be learned here.
Just because the guy was in a high position - someone needed to be bold and stand up to him and speak the truth. No AD should be allowed to get away with this stuff and bully people into shutting up.

Ikemefuna Enemkpali - Candidate For Sports Idi@t of August

Well, the J-E-T-S Jets, Jets, Jets just lost their supposed starting QB for 8-10 weeks because he was sucker punched in the face in their locker room by (now former) teammate: IKEMEFUNA ENEMKPALI...

IKEMEFUNA, aka 'IKE' (African for Idi@t), now joins our list of candidates for Sports Idi@t for the month of August 2015!

Seems QB Geno Smith may have owed Ikemefuna some money, and 'Ike' wanted it faster than Geno was prepared to pay.

The result was 'Ike' going Floyd Mayweather on Geno's jaw, breaking it.

Interestingly enough, some may say Geno Smith being out for 8-10 weeks would be a blessing for the Jets!

                            In All Fairness....

To be fair, I reluctantly add Mr. W Jones from BU to the August list of sports figures who have made horrendous personal choice mistakes in August. Good news he will be a longshot vs others' more egregious decisions this month.

Co-Candidates QB Brady and Commissioner Godell

We have co-candidates for August SIOTM: QB Tom Brady and NFL Commissioner Roger Godell who have both managed to inflate the issue of NFL football psi to a pathetic state all month in August.

Brady, who texted his 'deflaters' a million times then throwing away his phone while agreeing with 'deflaters' they were talking about personal weight loss. Godell for hiring inspector Clouseau to investigate and prosecutor Groucho Marx to appear before the judge.

Honorable mention to Coach Belichick, the ' 'Lance Armstrong' of the NFL.
