Braves win the series! For the 1st time since 2003 BU has won a series against Wichita. The Braves won 3-2 and improved their record to 26-10, 5-4 in the Valley. The 5th inning saw all the action as Wichita scored twice in the top of the inning and the Braves came back with 3 in the bottom of the inning. The Braves scored theirs after two were out as a walk, 2 singles and a 2 run double gave the Braves the lead. This puts them in 3rd in the Valley. The Braves continue the homestand with a game on Wednesday against Western Illinois and finish their homestand next weekend with a 3 game set against Valley foe Evansville. Way to go guys!

despite only being about 80% due to nagging hamstring issues, 3B Spencer Gaa is having a great season..
he's batting .450 with 17 RBI in 17 games, and because of his nagging injury - he's about the fastest guy on the team but has only one stolen base..
he's only played half the games and has almost as many total bases as the team leaders...and he's struck out only 6 times - just a sophomore so we have him for at least another season.

The Bradley baseball team improved their record to 27-10 with a 4-0 win at home over Western Illinois. 5 pitchers combined for a four hit shutout, the teams 8th of the year which has tied the all time BU season record, set in 2006. The Braves go back into Valley play this weekend as they host Evansville for a 3 game series.

As pointed out, Bradley Baseball has only two home weekends left - this weekend against Evansville and in two weeks against the Redbirds. Probably biased, but some good stuff to read about in the Game Center article for this weekend's series against Evansville: http://www.bradleybraves.com/ViewArt...CLID=210044333
And I'll go ahead an point out tomorrow is $1 Hot Dog Night.Bradley Associate AD for Communications and Operations

Braves win 1st game of the series against the Aces.. 5-3
with Spencer Gaa going 3-4 with 3 RBI (.440)
Gaa would be among the top 2-3 in the nation in hitting but he has only played 19 games, thus is not eligible on the stats.
..and it's not likely Bradley will play enough games for him to get the eligible appearances

Bradley won the delayed game Saturday evening 8-4 to improve their record to 7-4
but going for the sweep Sunday - and hitting a few obstacles...
Bradley has committed 3 costly errors and given up 6 hits early in the game and are down 5-0 in the 3rd inning
