  • Little League strips Chicago team of national title

The Little League has officially stripped the Jackie Robinson West Little League team that won the US championship at last summer's Little League World Series for cheating-
Little League Baseball has stripped the U.S. championship from Chicago-based Jackie Robinson West and suspended its coach for violating a rule prohibiting the use of players who live outside the geographic area that the team represents.

The organization found that the Jackie Robinson team used a falsified boundary map, and that team officials met with neighboring Little League districts in Illinois to claim players and build what amounts to a superteam.

As a result, the United States championship has been awarded to Mountain Ridge Little League from Las Vegas.

"Little League takes these matters very seriously and has spent countless hours gathering information about the many issues facing Jackie Robinson West Little League and Illinois District 4," Keener said. "During our review, it became clear that both Jackie Robinson West officials and District Administrator, Mike Kelly signed documents to make players eligible who should not have been."

Sad. I was in a local pub watching the championship game and you would have thought the Cards or Cubs were playing the fans were cheering so loud for this team.
What part of illegal don't you understand?

what's also interesting in all of this - that as a result of their cheating and their Little League wins,
the coaches & players also received a lot of other awards and recognition....

so do they have to pay back the City of Chicago for the million dollar parade? LINK LINK
and does the President owe the nation an apology? - LINK
They owe CUBS & SOX fans an apology?

But now it's sad for the kids who go from being superstars to being hounded all their lives by nosey media who will pry for answers about their disgraced championship. Some in the media can indeed be cruel.

Don't expect any of this to happen. BO won't touch this one with a ten foot pole. Don't cheat and the media won't have a reason to be "cruel".

Might teach these kids a valuable lesson. Don't cheat. Can't tell me that not one kid on that roster knew some players were playing out of their district. See where rev jackson is playing the race card. Figures.

                this mystifies me...
the whole story is sad, the kids are somewhat the victims, although as you said many had to know they were cheating by crossing boundaries and recruiting kids outside their district...

but now we have Jesse Jackson defending the indefensible and whining about the cheaters getting caught.

Don't even reasonable people - even minorities get sick and tired of the race-baiters blaming everything on racism?

like the bunch of spoiled children that all these folks are...now they've taken this to the next logical demanding step...
they have hired lawyers and are SUING
not just suing Little League to get their cheating title back - but also going personally after the guy who blew the whistle on their cheating

and of course they claim they were specifically discriminated against and treated unfairly.

Chris Janes has had plenty of unwelcome attention after playing a role in Jackie Robinson West being stripped of the Little League national title. But despite everything, he has no regrets.

No matter how old they are, if they knew they were cheating they should be humiliated.

If they donate $150,000 to the Bill & Hillary slush fund, I mean, Clinton Charitable Foundation, and $25,000 to the Prez Obama Library in Chicago, Loretta Lynch will pardon them and restore the LL WS title... They were disadvantaged poor inner city kids harmed by racism who could use the boost to their self esteem.
