There will be 4 new inductees in the 2015 class of the Baseball Hall of Fame.
The following 4 received enough votes to be inducted-
Craig Biggio
Randy Johnson
John Smoltz
Pedro Martinez
There were a number of other possibly deserving candidates on this year's ballot, including greats like Barry Bonds, Roger Clemens, Sammy Sosa, Mark McGwire, and others, but many of them have been either associated with steroid use, or suspected to have been steroid users, and the baseball writers who vote mostly have strong feelings that those who may have achieved their career stats using steroids do not deserve to be elected. Thus the relatively small class of 4 inductees for 2015.
All of those who were strongly suspected steroid users were on under 40% of the ballots (Roger Clemens was the highest with 37.5%), although there are some who even suspect guys like Craig Biggio might have also dabbled. 75% are needed to be inducted into the HOF. Is is looking like some of those great stars of the 1990's and early 2000's will probably never get enough votes to go into the HOF.
