I am not that big of a Bears fan any more since they have done such a poor job of selecting head coaches...but FWIW I just wanted to gripe about the game last night. Winnable game, beatable opponent...
...Of course they played horribly for 3 quarters, then early in the 4th quarter actually looked like they had a chance and were within striking distance...
But three things really bummed me out and make me just never want to watch another Bears game until both Cutler & Trestman are gone.
-first, just when it looked like maybe the Bears had a chance when they were down 24-8 - just needed possibly 2 more TD's and 2-pt conversions - then they start stalling.
Yes - they were lingering in huddles, walking to the line, taking forever for each play - acting like they had the lead & were eating up the clock!
Even the play-by-play guys repeatedly commented that there was zero sense of urgency or trying to get the plays off to have more opportunity to score. Just wasting gobs of time.
-then they repeatedly ran short, clock-eating runs up the middle as if trying to get into the center of the field for a FG - even though we all knew they had to get a TD.
Again - it completely stumped the announcers as well as any fan still hoping we'd pass or go out of bounds to get more plays.
-then lastly - just as we might be in position on offense to score - the offensive line breaks down and Cutler starts throwing bad passes & getting sacked. Same old story - if offense is Mark Trestman's specialty then why is the Bears offense the very worst part of their game?
