  • SF Giants One Win Away - Hoping For 3rd WS in 5 Yrs!

Never thought I would be saying this back in late Sept, but, the SF Giants are one win away from another WS Title! Tough to win on the road, but, the Giants have shown they can win outside of SF.

Because of their west coast location, and, the big time bias on ESPN and Fox, Giants don't get the national love the Dodgers do, or even the Oakland A's, Angels, or even the Mariners for cripes sake so the tv ratings won't be super as Chicago, New York, Boston, Philly etc tuned out of watching baseball on tv once their teams fell flat this season.

The Giants keep winning games in crazy ways while being up and down more than a yo-yo (and without any significant contribution from their #3 batter Buster Posey).

Too bad post season games don't count in Cy Young awards, as Madison Bumgarner would probably replace Wainwright and Kershaw as the top dog on the mound in the NL for 2014.

3rd WS in 5 years would be sweet, sorry Dodgers

I am impressed with both teams getting the most out of their players. They are two teams that are not loaded with All Stars (neither team had a player voted as a starter), and with overachievers and good pitching. Neither SF or KC ever get much time on ESPN.

Just a phenomenal game by Bumgarner last night.......I think we need to win Tuesday....I would hate to play a game 7.......

Although it would be interesting to see if Bochy would start Bum on short rest.......I really could see Bochy start Bum and follow him with Petit if there is a game 7

      Go Giants

Congrats to the SF fans! What a series, and a great game 7.

Also, nice to see former White Sox draftee and farm hand Michael Morse as the batting hero of game 7. He had 2 RBI, including the game winning run.

It was great win...some heroics were overshadowed by Bum's pefromance.
Sandoval getting on base and scoring a couple of runs...tagging and going to third on fly ball to left......Morse's timely SF and single as well Affeldt coming in and putting KC down when they having batting practice against Hudson. Affeldt pitched 2 and 2/3 scoreless innings and got the win......
Panik's start of the DP was also integral in keeping KC off the bases.....definitely a team effort and as great as Bum was all the parts were necessary for the Giants to win the series

yeah - honestly whenever any player has had a great World Series in the past - there's always been a couple other guys who also had a good series to help out..
But this time pretty much just one guy had a good series and he carried his whole team - he deserves the accolades

You know what is going to happen with the Giants now. They are going to start thinking they are better than anyone else. They will want to form their own division. That way they can pay their players more than the required salary caps. Get more revenue from TV and radio. Will it ever end?????

Will definitely make tix even more expensive at AT&T Park next year.

Will have to get my Giants fix in 2015 Spring Training and at D-backs-Giants games here in Phx. Last two weeks of Spring Training best deal in sports.

Giants have some work to do in the off season to have a chance before 2016.. Gonna cost em to keep Panda and have to find some starting pitching as Timmy, Vogelsong, Hudson and Peavy may not be enough in 2015. A healthy and effective Cain would help.

Finding a way to keep Pagan healthy and able to play at least 145 game in '15, priceless.

Look forward to watching Cubs w/Maddon v Giants in Spring Training.

Let's hope the Giants play the White Sox again in spring training. Maybe we can meet up again!
