  • NFL Draft Thursday

With the recruiting apparently finished, and 2014-15 ticket renewals arriving, it looks like the 2013-14 Bradley basketball season is officially over.

Now on to Football- the NFL 2014 Draft is Thursday night at 7:00 PM Central.

Who will be #1? Top 5?

Who will the Bears pick with their #14 pick or will they try to trade up or down?

    Does anyone expect any surprises?

How far might Johnny Manziel and Jadeveon Clowney fall?

Here are a couple mock drafts. Most experts are projecting the Bears to draft Defensive Tackle Aaron Donald of Pittsburgh (if he is still available at #14, which I am not sure he will be), or Safety Calvin Pryor of Louisville. Other possibilites include Linebacker C.J. Mosley of Alabama or Safety Hasean (Ha Ha) Clinton-Dix of Alabama.

Clowney won't drop at all. He will go #1 while Greg Robinson will go #2 imo. Bears go dt either Aaron Donald or reach for Rashede Hageman from Mn. If Gilbert from Ok St slips they may go that way in light of Peanut Tillman's age.

If Donald is available for the Bears, that's a great pick up. Not sure about taking the two safety's that early, though. May rather want to grab Buchannon from Washington State in the second round instead, assuming he's available.

As a Lions fan, i'm hoping we trade up for Watkins. He and Megatron would be NICE. Problem is, it'll be a massive price to pay to move up into the top 3. But when you have the nucleus of Bush/Stafford/Calvin/Suh/Fairley, you have to win now. I couldn't even imagine the excitement over a single playoff win in Detroit, let alone anything more.

I would be surprised if Donald falls down to 14.

A New York sports writer is reporting that the NY Jets are trying to trade up in the NFL draft from their #18 position, and the Bears at #14 are one of the teams he suggests they may be talking to. I think there is a very good chance the Bears might trade down. Unless Aaron Donald or another immediate impact defensive player is available at #14, then likely the others they are targeting will be available later in the draft.
