A lot of strange activity by the Bears today. But I expect even more strange things to start tomorrow, the first day NFL teams can sign free agents. Official start of free agent signings is 3PM Central Tuesday, 3/11.

Bears backup quarterback Josh McCown's agent is saying that 2 or 3 NFL teams are offering "starter's" money to sign McCown. With as often as Cutler gets injured, and as well as McCown played last year filling in, most Bears fans wanted to see the Bears re-sign him. But that is looking less likely if the Bears can only offer a backup role, and probably less money than teams like the Texans, Jets, and Buccaneers..

The Bears signed a Defensive End- They signed Lamarr Houston, formerly of the Oakland Raiders-
http://www.windycitygridiron.com/2014/3/11/5497088/nfl-free-agency-chicago-bears-sign-lamarr-houstonThe Chicago Bears have begun reworking their defense with some actual talent. Bears GM Phil Emery has signed former Oakland Raiders defensive end Lamarr Houston.
They also signed one of the better safeties on the free agent market- Ryan Mundy of the NY Giants-
They also re-signed linebacker D.J. Williams-
And they signed Linebacker Jordan Senn, who was an effective special teams player for the Carolina Panthers last season, and captain of the special teams unit.-
And they also cut Julius Peppers, which saves them $10 million this season in salary cap space-
