Golf - Luke Donald plunks a girl in the head

in an unfortunate incident - golfer Luke Donald - who was among the leaders at the time -
pulled a tee shot on the 3rd hole - to the left and it struck a young girl in the head. She was serving as a course volunteer and reportedly did not know the shot was coming her way.
She laid on the ground after the impact for several minutes but got up and walked away on her own.

It is debatable how this may have impacted Luke Donald - but he played poorly for the next several holes after this incident.
He ended up with a bogey on the 3rd, then got bogies on the 4th, 5th, 8th, and 9th,
and got a double bogey on the 6th - so he shot 6 over par on the next 7 holes after this incident and dropped out of contention finishing tied for 8th - 6 strokes over par.

they don't cheer for them in the Ryder cup... yet they do in the US Open..

in the old old days they used to...because its America's Open

I also think the US Open should be for American citizens only... and same with the British Open

It's the PGA. I don't think are cheering for them to win, just appreciate good golf. I would much rather root for Luke Donald than the top golfer in the world after what he has pulled.
