I think this one might be a hard on but I bet lefty will know it....

In all of Illinois high school history and IHSA history -

Has any BOYS TEAM SPORT won the STATE CHAMPIONSHIP with girls participating & playing a key role on the team (and not as manager, subs, bench players, etc..)?

Of course the answer is yes - and it was right here in Peoria in 2006, when a girl, Jessica Parmenter, on Peoria Christian's BOYS VARSITY GOLF TEAM helped the team to a STATE CHAMPIONSHIP...
...as a girl - she was also entitled to enter as an individual in the GIRLS STATE CHAMPIONSHIP and also got an INDIVIDUAL 2nd Place Medal the same year!

That is funny.. When I was like 8 I golfed in a junior tournament at Fondulac and she was in my group....

there is an interesting story that kinda goes with this...

back in the late 70's at one of the Chicago suburban high schools - a couple boys were allowed on the girls bowling team because the school had no boys bowling team..
yup - you guessed it - they were really good and helped the team win the GIRLS bowling State Title - causing uproars and IHSA issued a new rule - never again allow any boy on any girls team.

However - girls CAN play on boys teams - (as in the Parmenter example) when there is no girls team - I have seen BOYS high school soccer & basketball teams with girls on the team...and read of a few football examples..
In fact - if a girl was fast enough and wanted to run on the boys 4X100 she would be allowed but NOT the other way around - they'd NEVER let a boy run on the girls 4X100 .
