  • OT - Who did you vote for?

I'm betting that most of the BU fans are conservative and are voting for Romney. I'm still curious though. I'm setting up a closed poll but if you want to voice your opinion you know how.
    24
    Democrat - Obama
    29.17%
    7
    Republican Romney
    70.83%
    17

    The poll is expired.

I don't want to live in this country anymore.
... At the end, of the storm, there's a golden sky. And the sweet silver song of the lark. Walk on, through the wind, walk on, through the rain, though your dreams be tossed, and blown. Walk on, Walk on with hope in your hearts, and you'll never walk alone!

The problem I find is that many of them are worse then here. Not being a Muslim I don't really want to move to Saudi Arabia, and I don't want to get blown up by Israelis in Iran.

government must stop spending money that neither they nor the people have - just look at little we get for the money spent..

the largest share of the spending is social programs and yet we have an unhappy, whining populace with more people in poverty and more getting handouts than ever before and everyone whining about what the government is doing.

And that population will only grow more now.....with nothing to hold him back(re-election) Obama will be all about his agenda.....not what's best for our country.....and then of course if you are a business owner in Illinois its a double whammy

I voted for Johnson. I dislike both Romney and Obama.

You are not the only one who is thrilled with Obama's win-

                        Kremlin welcomes Obama's win-

                        Putin is happy-

                        Socialist countries are elated-

                        China is happy-
China's leaders did not publicly support either Obama or Romney, both of whom vowed during campaign to get tough on China if elected

                        And Muslims everywhere are celebrating-

Here is who isn't happy- the job creators-

As I have posted once before - the government can only take so much FROM the people who ARE the successful and enterprising people in order to redistribute or give it to those who are not.

At a certain point it hurts everyone...

As I have posted before - LINK - there are economists and experts who all agree that even if you took every cent from everyone and redistributed it ALL EQUALLY and gave everyone the exact same amount of money & wealth making EVERYONE economically equal on the grandest of level playing fields...
then it would take only a matter of 4-5 years before all the money in the hands of those who are NOT successful or enterprising will be back in the hands of those who are!!!

In other words - it never helps to just take from those who have and give to those who don't even try to obtain - because you only reward laziness and sloth.
It is a system that has failed everywhere else in the world and most of those places are FAR, FAR worse than we'd ever want to be yet - that's where we are heading.
In other words - the current trend of our government isn't going to hurt me or people who can succeed with their education and abilities - they will MOST HURT those who cannot succeed and who are now dependent on a soon-to-be-bankrupt government.

note that the worldwide markets already know this and are way down this morning - the Dow is down >300..
they know.....unfortunately a huge hunk of voters simply don't know and want the check in their mailbox more than the future of their own children, their nation, or their race.

Sorry - I really mean that! Perhaps if there was a stronger 3rd party, which btw I believe there is a real opportunity for a strong person to create, I'd have added it. I'm a social libertarian with a liberal bent but also a fiscal conservative that believes in a real free market economy. Neither party speaks to me and as long as Special Interests are dominating the direction our country is going I suspect very little change from the status quo. We can hope that Obama's fourth term is guided by compromising to the center with a populace bent without beholding to the far left or Corporate greed. Will he stand up for the hardworking middle class family who are in pain?

It will be interesting to see who will win the control of the Republican Party going forward. Will they see that their base is too far from mainstream America or continue down this path of letting the extremes dictate their candidates. The three things that really hurt Romney IMO: 47% comment, his stance and the Republicans on womens reproductive rights and Hurricane Sandy (Chris Christie?).

I agree...particularly the first and third comment....Sandy hurt becuase of Christie but also because it took the focus off the economy and Bengahzi questions at exactly the right time.
