Uhmm... again.. Crowley has not backtracked.

CNN’s Chief Political Correspondent and State of the Union Anchor Candy Crowley addresses moderating the second presidential debate, including the question of whether or not President Obama characterized the attack on the U.S. consulate in Benghazi as "terror" in the Rose Garden the next day.

Sorry to disagree, but here is a video of apparently the same or a similar interview, and Candy Crowley clearly admits that Romney "was right in the main". In my world, and most people's world, that is backtracking from what came out in the debate, where she tried to correct Romney and tell him he was wrong.
After the debate, debate moderator Candy Crowley said Republican nominee Mitt Romney was "right in the main" but "picked the wrong word" on the Obama adminis...

And here is the actual moment in the debate when Candy Crowley intervened- please watch it, as Crowley totally misstates the facts.
      Here is her exact quote-

"He did in fact, sir, so lemme, lemme, call it an act of terror. He did call it an act of terror.
It did as well take, it did as well take, 2 weeks or so for the whole idea there being a riot out there about this tape, to come out, you are correct about that."
Enjoy the videos and music you love, upload original content, and share it all with friends, family, and the world on YouTube.

Crowley is wrong about the fact that Obama "called it an act of terror" (which he did not). And she is wrong about saying it took "2 weeks or so for the whole idea there being a riot out there about this tape, to come out."
In fact the Obama administration, including Obama himself, Hillary Clinton, Jay Carney, and UN Ambassador Rice all tried to blame the killings on a riot caused by the YouTube video from day 1 through day 14 after the event.

Joe Biden talks about his college football playing career...so I guess this story is worthy of our sports message board!

the only trouble is...there is no record that Biden ever played football in college....

the only trouble is...there is no record that Biden ever played football in college....
Joe Biden did play college football. He was taken of the team by his father. This was in the Washington Post in 1987. It was backed up in an LA Times article that quoted the (at the time) Senior VP of J. P. Morgan, Donald Brunner, who was his roommate.

Here is a snippet of the article:

"He probably never studied as hard as other people did," recalled Biden's roommate at the University of Delaware, Donald Brunner, now a senior vice president with J. P. Morgan. Brunner and Biden both played football as freshmen, but Biden then quit the team, Brunner said, under pressure from his father, who thought that he was devoting too much time to sports and not enough to books.

            So it's not a lie.

the article linked cites that Joe Biden's own writings say he never played and only played intramural FB at Delaware - so who ya gonna believe...
so then that means he wasn't on the team when they played Ohio, and Joe has a history of exaggerating a bit..
              Remember the three degrees claim??

As long as this is a sports message board, let's not forget that a few weeks ago Paul Ryan kind of...well...exaggerated his marathon time. I like to run..or should I say I attempt to run.. and I know my personal best for a mile... I know marathon runners. They KNOW their competitive times that they have run within minutes... Not HOURS!

Jeff Pearlman says, no, a runner doesn’t forget that his marathon time was four hours, not three. Not unless that runner has a casual relationship with truth.

making a one second error on a marathon time that he wasn't bragging about anyway.....
is a bit different than trying to bully someone you are having an argument with by saying "I have three degrees" when you have only one, IMO.

If this isn't the clearest indication we have problems in American politics, I don't know what is.

People arguing over which candidates lie less, and when something was or was not identified as a terrorist act.

Neither candidate is going to cut spending....look at the money they are raising and spending in their campaigns

Pretty much how I feel. I also hope but doubt it if in the next debate there is a question regarding Special Interest, Citizen United v FEC and campaign reform. The media is also in on it and that is part of the problem. The guys who own the television stations in Ohio must love their revenue stream every 4 years!

The topic for the next debate is foreign policy, so those type of questions look doubtful.
