Nice story about baseball player Adam Greenberg

Most might not know the story of Adam Greenberg. He was a pretty good player in the Cubs minor league system, and was called up to the Cubs back in July 2005. He came to bat for his first major league plate appearance on July 9, 2005, but on the first pitch he was hit in the head by a 92 MPH fastball from Marlins pitcher Valerio de los Santos. He spent the next year and a half battling vertigo, vision problems, and other concussion symptoms. He eventually came back and played at several minor league stops, but never was the same player.
He is the only player in MLB history who's entire MLB career consists of only 1 pitch.
Now at the age of 31, he will finally get the second chance he has wanted- the Marlins have signed him to a 1-day contract and he will play next Tuesday against the Mets for at least 1 more at bat.

there has been a lot written about this - and the debate will probably never be settled.........
but there is a reigning legend that all rookies who step to the plate for the very first time in the majors - should expect to be welcomed by a "brushback" pitch - or even worse - a beanball...

Anyone remember this incident that just happened this season??

"I was trying to hit him," Hamels said. "I mean, I'm not going to deny it."...when he hit rookie Bryce Harper the first time he ever faced him...

But - Greenberg has carefully tried to avoid any comments that would accuse de los Santos of intentionally hitting him but the implications are there and many fans speculate that's exactly what happened.
Even Adam Greenberg will tell the story that in his long comeback attempt in the minors - there have been other pitchers who keep throwing intentionally at his head because now they expect that will further intimidate him...

I say if MLB knows these facts then it should exercise their power to ban any pitcher who ever does such a thing.
The NFL is doing it with their bounty-bans...
