  • MLB Baseball and its September

OK in April the O's started hot and I said it is a long season and I expect them to fade. Well it Sept. 4th and they are now tied with the Yanks for 1st place in the AL East!

Someone asked me if they did not make the playoffs would you be happy about their season? Good question and one where I feel like I'm greedy but NO. I want to see them make the playoffs and hopefully win their division. Buck Showalter should get Manager of the year for what he's done with this team and if not him the A's are doing pretty well right now so I'd be OK with Bob Melvin.

On another note how about Mike Trout! What a player! Could be the best player of our generation!

Trout is certainly having a remarkable year for a rookie. But IMO he'll need to sustain that over a few years to be considered among the best of a generation. The O's are one of the surprise teams. The Yanks appeared to be the shoe-ins to win the AL East. But there are several surprise teams this year- Oakland, Cincinnati, Washington, Pittsburgh, and the White Sox- that few expected to be contending for playoff spots this late. It should make for a fun month of September.

I thought Cincinnati and the White Sox both had teams that could contend for a playoff birth during spring training.

On Trout, I said, could be the best in a generation. I'd not bet against him. He has all the tools needed. He's not just an offensive machine but a great defensive player. He could be the next Willie Mays, who I considered the all time best all around player ever to play the game.

how come in MLB when dozens of players pour off the bench and race onto the field for a brawl -- even absolute nobodies like bullpen catchers and waterboys...
why doesn't MLB baseball fine them SEVERELY for leaving the bench area to run onto the field and fight?

that just might put an end to these ridiculous and embarrassing bench-clearing brawls that are a black eye to the game.

I really do not mind these bench clearing brawls because usually 99% of the time the benches clear and nothing happens. It gives the game a bit more excitement. Its much better then the NHL's fight club attitude.

SFP - Going to any of the Giants-Dodgers games this weekend?
Should be an exciting series at an outstanding ball park.

If you go, wear something with BU or Bradley on it, so we can pick
you out of the crowd on TV!

Bench and bullpen clearing skirmishes in MLBB provide another opportunity to stand in
line and get a beer, or, go to the bathroom, without missing anything.

            Don't take them away!

I was trying to scalp tickets yesterday but way out of my price range! The energy though around the city and stadium is approaching 2010. They still have great pitching but the hitting is very average but that is what I said in 2010.

I will be heading though to the A's vs O's next weekend. A's prices are a lot more palatable to my wallet.
