People are free to believe what they want...but consider this...
-The guy has never tested positive
-he has always insisted he did not cheat
-no credible witness has ever said otherwise
-he just won the trial to prove he lied and did use drugs
despite all this - the guy keeps getting hammered in the press....
Even if you do believe Clemens did drugs - then postulate this...what if he's completely innocent - then wouldn't it fit the situation that exists perfectly??
If he's doing drugs then why can nobody prove it?
Anyway -- did you see that he pitched yesterday at age 50 - in the independent minors/Sugarland Skeeters....he's hardly thrown a ball in five years yet he went out onto the mound -
and he impressed....
Clemens threw 3 1/3 innings, allowed only ONE hit (a 2-out single), no walks, two K's, in 37 pitches....hitting as high as 88 mph on fastballs.
Almost 8000 came to the minor league game to watch him pitch, including a few major league scouts and personnel, some of whom said they believed Clemens could still pitch in the majors.
BTW -- I hope after the people in Congress have given up their witch hunting endeavor against baseball that they just spend their time solving the real issues at hand in the US instead of holding baseball hearings and indicting people.
