This award by IHSA to NIU for the football playoffs is meeting with some dissatisfaction...
there's a growing sentiment that the other two schools that bid for the games (ISU and SIU) -- and especially the folks at SIU feel they were discriminated against for political reasons - since their facilities are arguably way better than what NIU has.
but I guess it doesn't surprise me that allegations on unfairness, politics, and bias accompany a decision from IHSA...
SIU really needed those games as their economy is hurting worse than most areas of the state...
IS IT A COINCIDENCE that as soon as that decision by IHSA was announced, SIU is GOING AHEAD with plans for layoffs...
