ND reputation taking a beating, pardon the pun, over two football players who were drunk and tried to avoid a police raid of the house they were partying in.

ND QB Tommy Rees was chased down by a local police officer after he jumped a fence and took off. Alledgedly, the kid kneed the officer and wrestled him down to the ground, and violently resisted arrest. The police officer who was wrestled to the ground suffered lacerations.
The other ND player, LB Carlos Calabrese, alledgedly threatened a police officer after trying to influence police officers to let them go since they were ND football players.
When the officer didn't relent, the player threated the officer telling him 'my people are going to get you'. He actually repeated this threat a second time for good measure.
ND sadly appears to be no better/worse than other big time football programs.
Disappointing... particularly for a University who likes to portray themselves as being above the fray with their student athletes.
What will be really disappointing is if they manage to escape prosecution, jail time (particularly for fighting and injuring a police officer), or significant punishment by the University and/or Football Program.
None of this 1 game suspension stuff or runing stadium steps each morning.
If a non athlete student had done the same thing, I am guessing they'd be dropped from school.
