The Giants Barry 'Zero' Zito opens his 2012 season with a complete game shut out vs the Rockies today! Party like it's 2002!!

Who says miracles don't happen in sports these days!

    Season W ...... L ....... ERA .... SALARY
    2007 ... 11 ..... 13 ..... 4.53 ... $18M

    2008 ... 10 ..... 17 ..... 5.15 ... $18M

    2009 ... 10 ..... 13 ..... 4.03 ... $18M

    2010 ... 9 ....... 14 ..... 4.15 ... $18M

    2011 ... 3 ....... 4 ....... 5.87 ... $18M

    2012 ... 1 ....... 0 ....... 0.00 ... $18M

    GIANTS 44 ..... 61 ...... 4.50 ... $108M

    Avg$ per win..... $2.45M

If Zito can turn his absolutely crummy Giants career around in 2012, BU should be able to turn their MBB fortunes around under GF!

It's amazing that they A. Won a World Series B. Have a great pitching staff and C. are a pretty darn good team this year with that albatross of a contract. Looking back at his stats when he was at Oakland, idk why anyone would have ever given him such a huge contract.

But hats off to the Giants for doing so well with the contract saddling them.

They have all 3 of their best pitchers under contract now through next year while Zito's contract will be off the books. They also announced a major revenue enhancing building project. This project will help them compete economically with the top teams. I expect to see them start signing some hitters the next few years. They have a pretty good ownership group that knows how to make money.

SAN FRANCISCO -- The Giants and the city of San Francisco have unveiled plans for Mission Rock, a proposed 27-acre project that will bring residential and office buildings as well as entertainment and public space to the area directly south of AT&T Park.

Zito goes 7 innings with only 2 ER in his second outing....Unbelievable

Too bad Giants can't break a wet paper bag with their offense and he gets no decision.

Thanks SFP for the update on Giants in Bay Area... Sounds encouraging.
Hopefully they can keep Lincecum, Cain, Baumgartner, and Vogelsong together and healty for the next couple of years...

Heading to SF to see Giants play Oakland Sunday May 20...First time to AT&T Park!

If I'm in town we should grab a beer but it looks like I'll be somewhere else the last 1/2 of May.
