    Rob Elliott was 3-for-5 and drove in the go-ahead run in the seventh, while Joe Bircher struck out 10 in another impressive outing as the Braves knocked off Memphis, 6-2, in the opening game of their weekend series Friday at FedEx Park:

    MEMPHIS, Tenn. ? Rob Elliott was 3-for-5 with a run scored and the go-ahead RBI and Joe Bircher struck out 10 in 7.0 innings, leading Bradley to a 6-2 win at Memphis Friday night.

    And Elliott's second 3-for-5 showing, including a 2-run triple in the ninth, gives the Braves a 5-4 win Sunday and the series win.

      Let's hope they keep winning. The baseball team could help take the sting out of basketball. When was the last time we had a winning bball and hardball team the same year. I guess we were spoiled during the 80's.

        Though maybe not on par with some of the teams in the 80's, the 2007 baseball team was 32-21 and tied for third in the MVC. They beat #10 Wichita State and won at Illinois, then went 2-2 in the MVC Tournament, eliminating the host team (Missouri State) in the process.

        That team featued current pros Rob Scahill, Ryan Eigsti, Ryan Curry and Dan Brewer.
