Girls/Bradley Women's basketball question

I don't follow women's basketball much. I was curious, if a class 1A player (Taylor Mclintock) would be the level of player that the Bradley women would recruit? I am not sure if in girls basketball the level of competition is so low in one A that they can't go Division one?

I only saw one game this year for Illini Bluffs and she scored 38 points so I could be overrating her but she looks to be quite a player. She is second team all state as a Junior.

I have no idea if she is being recruited yet by anyone, but wondered if Bradley would be a possibility.

I think it is similar to the way it is with boys basketball. 1A basketball players are far less likely to get recruited, and if they are recruited they are less likely to have success at Division I colleges. The level of competetion is much lower for 1A teams. But Taylor Mclintock is an outstanding player and I wouldn't be surprised if she gets D1 offers.

Taylor is quite the player and has a really complete game. Handles the ball well and can shoot the 3...used to play some hoops with her dad...Taylor has that love for the game that gets you to the next level...I think she has the talent to play D1...she will play against some pretty good talent this summer...IB will have to revamp next season with the loss of the Walls..but they should be very good again next season...will have to run a little more I think...

You are dead right. If they can develop some of their younger post players this summer they have a chance to be even better next year. All of their back court players are back next year. Plus almost everyone that challenged them this year on the tournament trail lost everyone to graduation.

I know Taylor and her family well and you will not find better people in the world. She is so humble and works as hard as anybody. She will only get better.

Taylor is a very good high school player. She has her senior season left and should continue to improve her game. Is she a player that Bradley would recruit? Tough question. I have only seen her play 3 times in 3 years. I was able to watch both of her 1A state tournament games this weekend where she did very well. If she would have been in 2A against Quincy Notre Dame she would have struggled mightily. If she can get faster and stronger it would benefit her. A 5'10'' guard causes trouble in the women's game. No doubt in my mind that she will have scholarship offers somewhere.

But....the Peoria area has produced several good guards in the past 6-7 years. Bradley got one (Bisping) but didn't recruit or didn't get the rest. Imo all of these guards are a notch ahead of Taylor. The ones I remember watching include: Tracy Pontius, Brook Bisping, Mariah Nimmo, Sarah Livingston, Tessa Burns, Kelsie Weynand, Mariah Smith, Maggie Cunningham, Maggie Krick, Brittney Jordan, Brenna Saline, Kelsie Herridge, Caty Eeton, plus a guard from Metamora (Reynolds?) whose name I can't recall. Almost all of these girls enloyed the benefits of playing against big 3A-4A schools. Small school girls ball around here is not very good. The programs that are good tend to be strong every year (IB, Havana, Brimfield, Eureka) but just not enough of them. I would get Taylor on a top notch AAU team this Summer if possible. That could elevate her game. Of course, that would mean less time available for softball or volleyball if she plays those sports in the Summer.

Sarah Livingston of Morton will be very good (class of 2013). I hope she ends up at Bradley. Her kind of size and athleticism is what Bardley has lacked.
