  • Bears win 30-24

It is amazing how much better the Bears look with just the addition of one average receiver in Earl Bennett. Just think how good they could be if they had signed another quality #1 or #2 receiver. Roy Williams has not impressed me much. He seems shy about getting hit, and his hands are just not good any more.

There were a lot of people who said Cutler was nothing more than an average quarterback. But I think those people are fewer these days. He has been impressive despite the mediocre patchwork offensive line, the schizophrenic play calling, and the terrible set of receivers he has had to work with.

Nice win by Cutler and the Bears tonight!

I still think Cutler is an average QB. I'd put Rodgers, Brees, Brady, Rivers, Ryan, Schaub, Roethlisberger, Stafford, E Manning, and probably even Romo ahead of Cutler. Without even mentioning P Manning, Newton, or Vick, that's 10/32 QBs that are better than Cutler. Sounds pretty average to me.

The O-line is getting better, which definitely helps. In fairness to Cutler it is hard to tell how good or bad he is when the line was that bad early.
I can do all things through pasta, which strengthens me.

Cutler is above average in almost every statistical category. And he's done it with a horrible set of receivers and a poor offensive line.
Everyone is entitled to their opinions, but I would not take Ryan, Schaub, or Romo ahead of Cutler. And even Eli Manning is hyped a ton more for a quarterback who's career stats aren't much different than Cutler's. And Stafford and Newton haven't proven anything yet. I'd place maybe 6 to 7 QBs ahead of Cutler. And compared to the QBs the Bears had before they traded for Cutler, which is really the important issue, he's a vast improvement.

I'm happy to finish the 1st half at 5-3!
I was thinking 4-4 before the season started, and 3-5 after starting the season poorly.
A couple really good road wins this season.
We now have the edge over Atlanta, Tampa Bay, and Philly for play-off spot.
We ain't gonna' catch the Packers though.

I agree with ya' here DC!
Cutler is showing me something the last few weeks.
If we make the play-offs in consecutive seasons, that would be great!
When's the last time that happened by the way?

I would put Cutler in the middle set of QBs, which makes him average. 17th in passing yards. Tied for 14th (with Rivers, Vick, and Newton) with 11 passing TDs. His picks are way down this year, which has really helped him.

With the NFL passer rating Cutler is 14th. http://espn.go.com/nfl/statistics/pl...rterbackRating

If you want to call him above average b/c he's better than 50% of the QBs, I can't argue with you. I put him in a group him with other average QBs.

Eli has a ring and is playing out of his mind this year. There is no comparison between Eli and Culter at this point.

Also Eli doesn't wear his helmet like a hat.

This year Cutler will take big strides in moving up that list....he is in the top 3rd for sure! One toughest QBs you will see IMO! Go Bears!

Cutler needs a legitimate wide receiver to move that high on the qb list. A really good offensive line wouldn't hurt either.

WR and O-line has been a problem for a long, long time. Who was the last legit #1 WR on the Bears? Really Angelo is the problem with the team. At least the line is getting better, but WR is still a mess. Roy Williams is unreliable, and Hester is worthless as a WR. Knox seems to have disappeared this year too. It would be really nice to have a legit #1 WR.
